Mini Gastric Bypass Questions
Tommy Joe replied to Tommy Joe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The mini bypass is done laporascopically only has one attached reroute and less recovery time. Because of my acid reflux and Barrett's esophagus I am opting for that rather than the sleeve -
Well we can start one or at least get together the three of us!

Hey Tacoma Munstersfan and Acceber12 I'm in Auburn. Having my mini bypass end of June.. We should set up a get together

Mini Gastric Bypass Questions
Tommy Joe replied to Tommy Joe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Snuggy2 thank you so much! It really helped to read your experience. I am a teacher and there are very few who support my decision and more who share concerns with me especially because I am going out of the country. My first American ortho botched a hip replacement when I was 30 and I had a revision the next year that left my left leg shorter than my right. Got that fixed in 2009 in Washington. So medicine is not an exact science all the time. -

The reason I am fat is due to stuffing crap thrown at me like this and not standing up for myself. Here's your chance to practice becoming the new person you want to be. You might have to fight that voice that says you have to be nice to everyone even if they crap on you...that voice is wrong! Confront her directly, nicely but firm, and let her know how her words are affecting you. If she says oh I'm just being funny I don't mean anything then say, it doesn't matter what you intend, I don't like those comments and am asking you to stop. Then if she doesn't you need to take further steps. Direct confrontation will help you teach yourself that you are as important and worthy as anyone else and you deserve someone, you, who will stick up for you. You will feel powerful in a good way rather than powerless which is the effect of her words. Good luck for you and let's make a group pact on here to stop taking s888 from other people! -
Seems then I need a procedure to make my mons majoris into a mons minimus

Short stuff yes!!! Down with FUPAs . Hey @"Alex Brecher" maybe Bariatric Pal Mexico could add a Lipo-FUPA Removal option? Like for another 350 bucks you can say Bye Bye Fu..Pa ( sung to the tune of Bye Bye Blackbird"
-
Ok ...(taking deep breath) I am a man with a fat FUPA and I've not given birth obviously. I'm so grateful for the honesty and playfulness on here. I haven't even had my surgery yet. I need to lose about 80 pounds or more. I want to get rid of the FUPA . Is Lipo the only way? I will probably get loose skin taken off too. I was raised so puritanical that even when slim I never took my shirt off. Sinful. Dammit once I get the weight off I would once in my life like to take my shirt off at the beach and not have bigger breasts than many others there... I dream of standing on a beach wearing a hat with an open white shirt and shorts in an Ian McClellan pose...I'm a gay 57. My svelte Pinoy husband doesn't mind my fat but I think we would make a nice duo on the beach don't you? FUPA your days above my "member" are numbered! Hope it's ok to mention my "member".

When Is Weight Loss Surgery the Wrong Choice?
Tommy Joe replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Alex if I can ask how much weight did you have to lose? I'm 245 and 5 9 and getting the bypass on the 27th through BPMexico. I know I need to lose 70 or 80 pounds . I am using the surgery as a inducement to change my eating permanently. I've lost weight five or six times in my life before , ate healthily, exercised, then quit and got fat again like the young lady did. This time my thoughts are I will take this very serious step and I will have a physical assistance to losing weight as well as my mental determination. Is that correct thinking? Do people needing to lose 70 to 80 also succeed with bypass? Just curious -

How do you tell people....
Tommy Joe replied to lindseyp1019's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been telling everyone at first , I guess I was wanting confirmation that I was doing the right thing. I haven't had anyone be very supportive. But now I'm doing the bypass and it will take care of my horrid reflux. Food gets stuck in my throat. I get acid back if I forget my pantoprazole, which I take twice a day. Surprisingly all of my current Dr were supportive and wished me well and will continue to care for me which is awesome I think. I tell people I'm having this done to take care of my acid reflux and Barrets esophagus. I currently have a very slow growing tumor in my kidney and getting in shape and healthier will help with that as well. I'm doing this for me. -
I can do a year long as it's not forever. I live near Seattle where coffee is a religious brew
