  1. I'm 6 days post op. Today I went to the grocery store to walk a little and get foods for the next phase. I became very fatigued and nauseous. They thought of food is making no me nauseous. Is that normal? I now have myself scared to eat. I'm on straight liquids right now. I ate sugar free jello the other day and ended up with diarrhea for about 18 hours. Tomorrow I start pudding and creamy soups plus vitamins. Any thoughts?

    ????Is diarrhea only "dumping"?

On day 3 I ate sugar free jello and I was running to the bathroom. I proceeded to have to run about 6 times until I spoke to my dr. He said that he felt it was my IBS acting up from the liquid and as I add more foods it should improve. I took immodium and it stopped but I still have it at least once a day. I do know that when I ate anything mayo prior to WLS but after my gallbladder removal I was immediately in the bathroom.

    IBS and GERD

I have IBS and had a flare on day 3. I was able to take immodium. My dr says it should calm down once I start adding foods. I'm only on the liquid stage.

    Diarrhea

I had surgery Monday and was doing fine until yesterday when I started with diarrhea. I thought it was a reaction to the sugar free jello I ate however it just keeps happening. I continue to sip liquids to avoid dehydration but is it normal that I've been in the bathroom 5x in less than 15 hours?
  5. I was sent home with tramadol for pain. I'm allergic to many pain meds so this one is settling but I don't feel that it works as well. Also have reglan for nausea. The third med is protonix which I have to take daily for 3 months however insurance won't cover it so waiting on the dr to fight that out. Took a nap but the gas pain is kicking up again. Ugh.
  6. Getting ready to head home! Surgery went well. Also had two hernias repaired while he was in there. Last night was horrible due to gas pain around my heart. They ended up doing an EKG to make sure it was only gas pains. I've been walking and now I'm enjoying my clear liquid lunch. Can't wait for the IV to be removed so I can get dressed and go! Hope everyone did well!
  7. I'm having bypass and I have to stay overnight. Most people I know who had sleeve also stayed overnight. I guess it depends on the surgeon.
  8. 6 am Monday for Bypass. SW 263 CW 251 GW 150. Day 1 of liquid diet. Had some broth. Just had orange jello. Blue jello is in the fridge setting. Keep telling myself not to touch the red jello. Getting nervous. My patience is low. That's how my nerves take over. Saw my mom today who is not in favor of the surgery. She was very quiet. Trying to focus on the positive and reading my binder of info to stay busy.
  9. I also got the call...6 am! Tomorrow I start my liquid diet for the weekend. Nothing after midnight. A tiny sip of water with my meds in the morning but that's it. I cried when I hung up. It's seemed like it was taking so long and now the day is fast approaching. Nervous!!!
  10. Good luck to you as well! I had my gallbladder out two weeks ago at the same hospital and they called around 2:30 so that's what I'm expecting. But you are right the wait for the time is all nerve wracking. Then Saturday I begin my liquid diet! Have lots planned to stay busy this weekend so I dont fixate on food.
  11. I go on Monday. Waiting for the call tomorrow with the time. Haven't packed yet but I did stock up on my clear liquids. I have friends who had the surgery and they brought me tons of protein powders and different types of vitamins to try. Getting excited! And nervous!!!!!!!

    Gall Bladder Removal for Roux-en-y?

I had mine removed on the 7th and I am having my bypass surgery on feb 1st. My doc wouldn't do it at the same time and I refused to delay my bypass surgery so he just took it. Luckily he will "reuse" some of the incisions for the bypass surgery.

    Help vitamins

I'm going with Vitafusion calcium and multivitamins. I tried Barimelts but they were big and I didn't like them. I forget what brand my biotin and b12 are.
  14. My surgery is 2/1. I started a low carb diet on 1/14. Two days before I must switch to a clear liquid diet. They say if all goes well I will only be in the hospital one night.
