The feast before the famine...
catalina_uk replied to tiers4me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For all the reasons you mentioned above. But as you said we are all different. I decided not to have one because I felt I was lying to myself. For me this surgery was the last resort to be healthy and if I couldn't stick to the healthy eating there was no point doing it. The beautiful crane pic doesn't belong to me, unfortunately. Or at least not yet. I m only two weeks post op. -
The feast before the famine...
catalina_uk replied to tiers4me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ve done a food funeral but to be honest I think if you do a food funeral you are going to shoot yourself in the foot. I ve craved for some bacon and a slice of victoria sponge with custard. And that was all. In the long run we can still enjoy those foods just not like before. -

band to sleeve revision 5/17/16 - pain when consuming liquids
catalina_uk replied to deckthhall's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Same here but with plain water only. I ve changed yesterday with hot water and lemon and a teaspoon of sweetener and it went down a treat. By the end of the day I managed 4 cups of hot water with lemon. No sweetener added because results show if you rely on sweetener all the time you are twice as likely to slip back into old habits and I do not want to be fat again. -
May 9th-13th sleevers

Thank you KirstenLe. I m not even hungry that's why I can't probably tell when I m full. When it comes to solids it will be measured, no doubts in that. -

Rny 14.05. How much can you eat? I ve been eating 3table spoons of soup or so and 1 1/3 litre of water. But I can't tell when I m full. It drives me nuts. Not hungry. Lost 1 stone so far since last Sat. -

5 days out and 6kg lost. Is it not a bit to early to start exercising your tummy? -
Allow me to disagree. You can't expect somebody who's just had surgery to have 80-100gr a Protein daily. That's just not possible. I am three days out and my new stomac can't handle more than 3 table spoons of yogurt at a time if not less. We all do it at our own pase, as are all different. Weight loss is not a race and we all do it differently. My surgeon in fact dos expect it. He said there was no physical reason someone couldn't drink 3 Premier Protein drinks in one day (33 oz of fluid/90 grams of protein) and expected us to do it. It can be done. It may take all day, but it can be done. This is in US. In uk is more about real food. Not Protein powder.

Mine is Saturday. Funny enough I m quite relaxed...I have had the strenght to do the pre op so when the big day will come, I will worry about it then. For me is even harder coz I book ops as a job and now I m the patient. It will hurt, it will be hard but it will pass. We are doing this because we want to. Take each day as it comes. Relax. It will be fine. Good luck and let us know how it went.

Maggie, you have to use your own holiday for that? Hell, no. Can't you just call off sick. With regards telling them that you are having a different op, I wouldn't go that way. Bariatric surgery is not an aesthetic op. Is to get ourself better. Good luck. -

I told my manager and after that everybody wanted to know why I am going in for. They suspect is for bariatric surgery but none of them are saying anything. If they ask, I will tell the truth, after. If not. Not.Is nobody's business. -

I can only think how hard it must be. This is why I didn't choose the liquid diet. Hang on in there, it will soon be over. Good luck! -

Yeah. I was given by my dietitian 4 options of pre op diets, 3 which were liquid and a last one where I am allowed to eat like this: breakfast: 40 g of cereals(daily ration of milk 200 ml) or one slice of toast(brown bread I eat) with low fat spread(sparingly only) +1egg+1 tomato(I do a salad of tomato and cucumber) Lunch is 50g of rice, pasta, pulses(choose 1 and measure 50g-not 50g of each) + vegetables as many as I want from the free veggies column+up to 175g of uncooked lean meat Dinner same I am allowed to eat 2 fruits a day+low fat/low sugar yogurt under 10g of sugar/100g of yogurt. I am not allowed any salad dressings or mayo. Only 1 tea spoon of olive oil, lemon/lime and balsamic vinegar and I can eat in reasonable quantities sugar free home made jelly+black coffee+tea with sweetener. In uk is different. I know it seams a lot of food for someone who doesn't eat anything but trust me it isn't . -

Sushine3099 hang on in there. I m having my surgery on the 14th of May and today is my second pre op diet day and tonight when I was making my salad I was thinking I will go nuts until the end. We have to do it. No excuses, no going back. We need to loose all that water from our liver otherwise we gonna be fat for the rest of our lives. Do u want that? I don't. I want to be able to run alongside my little man, take him swimming without being afraid of what might people say, climb trees, jump up and down with him all day and so many other things I can't do at the moment. I have been fat all my life since childhood. I'm gonna be 30 soon and I want to be a new me!! We can do this!
