How long did it take after your first fill before you got restriction
dolphin_dreams replied to Firecallie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I got my first fill on Dec. 20th. I have 1.5cc in a 4cc band. I can definitely feel it. My fill quickly reminds me to slow down and chew, chew, chew! -
Christmas PB? Post here....
dolphin_dreams replied to Bensmum1109's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Count me in. For me it was the grilled lobster tail, shrimp, and steak. I tried to eat too fast--a little of each and my band protested. -
From what I can read and see, you are beautiful inside and out! Congratulations on the terrific weight loss.

Hello and welcome to the board. I was on a pre-op liquid diet(Optifast) for two weeks before surgery. With me, I got a headache once when I didn't drink enough protein shakes. -
Glad you are here. This is a wonderful source of information. Be sure to check out some of the past threads. They were very helpful to me.

I'm sending a big hug your way and hoping that your recovery is quick!

I'm glad you're doing better. I just had my first fill on Tuesday 12/20 and I've had this happen twice but it didn't last for long--Thank God! I guess I had gotten lazy about the chewing but not anymore. I feel like I'm learning to eat all over again.

<p>I'm so sorry to hear that you were denied. I know that many people on the board were denied the first time too. There are some sample letters of insurance appeal letters. It's worth a shot. Good luck.</p>

I'm glad things went well. Take it easy and remember to sip lots of water. Ice chips helped me also.

I would definitely follow up with the insurance again to make sure they got the information. I have BC/BS and the nurse at my doctor's office said that they do not accept faxed information. She said it has to be mailed. It took a little longer but in the end everything worked out. I hope all goes well for you too!

DFW Sleep clinic recommendations?
dolphin_dreams replied to Tropicana's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I used Total sleep Diagnostics. They have offices is Flower Mound, Plano, and others that I can't remember. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea before I even heard of the band. My advice, if possible, is to have the test done at a sleep center and not a sleep center that is part of the hospital. I had to do two different nights due to doctors orders and the sleep center is a much more comfortable and relaxed setting than the hospital. Total Sleep Diagnostics (972) 539-6060 -

I promise to feel sympathy for you when I quit laughing. You're post sounds oh so familiar to many. Remember what your laxative proved," This too shall pass." Hang in there and welcome to the club! -
I don't know what to say that hasn't been said. Please know that you are loved here on the board and that we are praying for you!

Dr. Veninga in Carrollton did my surgery. I checked his website and PCHS is listed. I've only been banded a month but I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Veninga and his staff. Here is the link to his website. http://www.bariatricsurgerydallas.com/html/pat_info/insurance.html

Welcome to the board! You'll find that there are quite a few Texans around here. Hang in there and make sure that you are drink enough protein shakes or try Isopure. It will help with the hunger. -
You are an amazing woman. I know that this has been an emotional roller coaster for you. Also, you have to be in pain and yet you take the time to answer our questions and soothe our fears. May God make your recovery quick and continue to give you peace.
