How much calcium does everyone take? My doc has me taking 1500 but it seems high.

Banded 1/21 (4 days) and the shoulder pains are STRONG at night. They don't seem to be that bad during the day when I'm busy, but maybe I don't notice it. I read that it should go away in less than 72 hours. Yes, I am walking and taking gas x but nothing. Anything else to help? How long has everyone else's been lasting? I also had a pretty bad hiatal hernia that they had to repair which might have made it worse?

Banded 1/21/16 and have had 2 fills (3cc and 2cc). Last one was under fluroscope and was the max I could take; 3 ccs caused a blockage and Water wouldn't go down. After about a week, I feel like there is zero restriction. I can tell the band is there if I eat too fast, but never get that full feeling and am hungry at night after dinner. Anyone have similar experiences? Doc says it gets better by the 3rd fill but wondering what everyone else's experience is. How many fills till you hit that green zone and feel the constant restriction and full feeling?
-
Neither. I am losing fast so the overall plan is working, just wondering about other's experiences. When you started getting fills did you have to adjust and if so, how often until the green zone?

Do you have that full feeling or is that something that never comes?

Anything available for us out there or is it all bad?

What are some common menu items you get?

NUT confirmed tri phosphate is like carbonate and difficult to absorb. Now where does everyone recommend getting their citrate from? That stuff isn't cheap!
-
So, I ran out of the bariatric advantage citrate chews and got some gummies from Costco. Brought them home and saw they are triphosphate. Is that similar to carbonate? Hate for them to go to waste.

1/21/16 here. Anyone else out there? I figure our own forum will help answer questions we all are probably having (or will have).

2 weeks post op. Start at 341, surgery at 323 and currently at 310. Lost a ton of weight pre op and week 1 but since I went from liquids to soft solids, I have stalled or gain .2-.4 a day. I'm getting ~500 cals which the nutritionist recommends for this phase. Not cheating at all or eating between meals. Also nothing is high sodium in my diet. Anyone else experience this? When did the stall break and did you do anything special? Just frustrating to work so hard and see no progress right out of the gate.

@@SusanFrye, @@Seraphina how's it been going for the two of you?

Heard differing things: the nerve (the name slips my mind) that is near the stomach ends in the left shoulder and is irritated. Also due to gas pain travelling to the left shoulder. For the first few days it is due to the c02 they pump you up with then, for me at least, it was the gas pain in my stomach rising. Lasted about a week on the nose.

What stall thread is this?
-
How's the gas now? How long did it last? What worked for you? 5 days out from surgery and still have bad pain in the shoulder at night only.
-
No pain in the stomach or incisions. Been off pain Meds since day 2 but the gas pain in the shoulder is the worst at night when lying down. Calling the doc today to see what he says
-
Banded on 1/21. How is the pain in your shoulder going? I am off pain Meds but have times of shooting pain in my left shoulder. Of course when I am trying to sleep.
-
Banded 1/21 and don't get filled for about 4 more weeks. What can I expect that first time? Do you normally go on all liquid? Any nausea?
-
How long do the gas pains last? Every sip I feel like it hits the pouch and hits and rises only to go back down (hard to explain). Still get the bubble up gas though post drink.

Thanks for the info. Not nervous, just curious. Day 3 is real good. Went off the pain pills after day 1 and can get up and down with minimal pain. Went out today to walk around at some stores after going stir crazy and got tired pretty quick. Been having some gas pains but nothing too crazy. Last night I took some chewable gas x along with some Meds and it felt like it got stuck in my throat. HORRIBLE heartburn ensues but got through it after an hour. Looking at work from home some tomorrow and maybe back in the office on Tuesday.

2 days post op and man are my bottom molars sensitive. Been on clear liquid diet so no chewing but brushing is painful. Anyone else experience similar things?
