    onester

It took a full year but I'm finally a onester. 198.5 this morning. Only 44 lbs so far, but still happy.
  5. I have had my band just over a year and in the last few days I have had a dull pain near my port site. has anyone else experienced this pain. It almost feels like a gas pain?

    May 2008 Slow Losers

I had my band on 5/6/2008. I have lost only 40 lbs. I am still happy I got the band although it has been a slow process. I am at 202 and working hard to become a onester. I'm glad I'm not alone though. Anyone else embarrased to go to the doctor because I haven't lost enough weight
  7. I have the exact same situation. Lost 27lbs at pre op diet and only 32 in total. I'm trying to tell myself that is 32 lbs I probably would not have lost. I also sprained my ankle so I have not been exercising for 6 weeks. It is still better than the gaining 10 lbs I've been doing every year. Think of it that way
  8. I am 7 months post op. I have sprained my ankle. I know they recommend Tylenol over ibuprofen but I was wondering if anyone has taken ibuprofen and if their has been any bad side effects if you have. I have been sticking with Tylenol but it has not been relieving the pain much.
  9. I got my 3rd fill two weeks ago. First two did not do a thing. On this fill I am full after a small amount of eating but like the food and want to continue after I feel full. Thank I start to PB and or throw up. How have you been treating the psychological party of over eating???
  10. I have very little restriction. I got a band on 5/6/08. I have lost about 32lbs and can't seem to lose anymore. The problem is I know I need another fill and can't bring myself to call and make an appointment to get one. It seems that I'm mentally stuck. I can and do eat tremendous amounts of food but have not gained or lost any more weight.
  11. I lost 25 lbs in my pre op diet. I have only lost 3 lbs since my lap band in May. I am still happy I got the band. I have not gained back any weight. This is important as I would have otherwise. I am now determined to get back on track, get another fill and and make my band work. I hope the same for you. Good luck, it was not a mistake.
  12. thanks for the info. I only have a slight nagging pain on my left side. I am sticking to liquids but they go down no problem. Hopefully, i'm ok. I think I'm sticking to fish and vegetarian life style for a bit.
  13. I felt really sick yesterday. I could not stop the pain and forced myself to throw up maybe six times in an attempt to feel better. Today, I am having pain on my side. How do I know if my band has slipped. Does anyone know what it feels like? I'm a bit panicky now. It is not a bulimic thing. I ate a small amount of chicken but it just would not go down. Thanks for any advice.
  14. Hi, I noticed there are times of the day, usually lunch time that I can eat tremendous amounts of food for a person with a lap band and other times of the day, I feel sick on almost nothing. I am not losing weight. Does this happen to others? I'm wondering if I need another fill, but worry since I can almost never eat dinner.
  15. I was one of those people who had two fills and could still eat an entire chicken. Last Friday I went for yet another fill and now understand what restriction is. I pb whenever I eat chicken. I am full on 1/2 an english muffin with protein on it. I am now eating like a normal person. of course, it has been 5 days and I haven't lost any weight but that is OK. I think you have to be really forthcoming with your doctor. I really complained about the lack of restriction and they put in 2 more cc's. Stick with it and continue to go for fills.
