I am so happy I am not the only person who can eat like this. I ate about 6 ounces of cheese today no problem. It is not good. I am hoping once I get the restriction things will be better. I lost 30 lbs so far and see me creeping back up with this kind of eating.

I was banded on 5/6. When I bend over to pick up laundry or when I'm cleaning it almost feels like my band feels like it pops. It doesn't particularly hurt but it is a very weird feeling. I also feel port pain for a second when I get out of bed in the morning. This also leaves after a few seconds of walking. I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing these weird feeling.

Third & Fourth Week Post OP
jaylow replied to @Ashley@'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on the 6th, so now 2 1/2 weeks post op and also starving. The first week I was nauseous and ate nothing. Now I am sticking to mushies but feel I could eat a whole container of mashed potatoes. I've pretty much gone back to counting calories until my first fill. I lost 34lbs between pre-op high protein lo carb diet and post op. i think the pre op diet definitely helped. Good luck to all -
Can you chew gum? I'm three weeks post op and in a mushy stage. I would love a piece of gum but not sure if we should be chewing? Anyone, have an opinion on this???

I was banded on 5/6. I can down a whole bowl of soup at a time. I'm wondering if this is normal? Also, I am still very bloated and my stomach looks like I'm 5 months pregnant? anyone else still bloated after one and a half weeks? Thanks for any input

I am also a 5/6 and am so happy to hear of others in my boat. I drank a protein drink every day for 3months for Breakfast. After surgery I drank 2 protein drinks then felt nauseaus and have not been able to down my protein since. I am starving and yet can't seem to drink that protein drink. Next week I can start mushies. I'm dreaming of eggs already.

I was banded on the 6th and still have pain also. My abdomen is still very swollen. I thought I was the only one. Some people sound like they are off jogging the 3 days out.

encourage me PLEASE!!
jaylow replied to CanHardlyWait's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took me a full week to get the anesthesia out of my system. I was sick and couldn't eat anything for a full week. On Tuesday, exactly one week after surgery I suddenly felt better and can now eat. Good luck it gets better. -

jaylow replied to MissieLyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am six days out and the first two days i could eat protein shakes. After that they made me sick as did almost everything else. I'm just drinking water and hoping it will pass. -
Help!! someone!!!PLEASE!!!
jaylow replied to willsmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on Tuesday and tried some watered down cream of chicken cup of soup and that was more than I could handle. I'm still queasy two hours later. I would call your doctor and see what he suggests you eat so soon out of surgery. Good luck. -
Anyone not told thier kids about their lapband?
jaylow replied to angelface's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my kids are 4 and 9. I also needed to have a hernia repaired so I just told them about the hernia. I have been dieting since the beginning of the year and lost close to 30lbs before the surgery so they really are not connecting the dots. I did not lie just did not provide any additional infromation. They both eat more than me and are thin. I have had food issues all my life and really don't want to pass it on to my kids. -
I weighed myself the day I came home from surgery and I had gained ten lbs. As time went on I have now lost 14lbs 6 days post op. You cannot worry about weight at this time

My 5 day post-op story (short version)
jaylow replied to boredryu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on May 6th. I think you did a great job explaining the procedure. I too am feeling guilty that I had to have this done, that I did not have the will power to do it myself. I also am having a hard time keeping down anything but water, tea and crystal light. I cannot swallow jello, my protein shakes or anythig else as they make me queasy, just like morning sickenss. Does anyone else have this problem? -
Banded 5/7 anyone else out there close to me?
jaylow replied to MissieLyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on May 6th. I can drink liquids but cannot down Jello, drink broth or have my protein drink. Anyone else having these problems????? -
I'm kind of in shock over my decision also. I can't believe I did this and part of me is terrified. I know this will pass shortly.

Hi, I was banded three days ago. I'm still very queasy. I'm able to keep down Water and crystal light but the Protein drinks are making me extremely ill and I am giving them up for now. I have also gained 10 lbs since the morning of my surgery. Very depressing. Hope your recovery continues well. I was allowed to shower two days after surgery. good luck

what else can I have on clear liquid diet
jaylow replied to slimm2be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded May 6th. My doctor told me to drink three protein shakes a day as long as they are mixed with water and not milk. Believe me they really fill you up. I think you may need some more protein than you are getting. You may want to call your doctor. -
how long after surgery did you have a drink
jaylow posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my surgery date is 5/6. We are having a birthday party for my daughter on the 17th. How long after surgery did people have their first alcoholic beverage. I'm thinking I might have a glass of wine. Thanks for the input -
Good luck to all of you. I'm on the 6th and would love to hear from any of you if you are feeling up to post after the procedure.

I have a May 6th date. It is my daughter's 9th birthday. The luckiest day of my life. I am feeling scared and excited all at the same time. My daughter is having a disco party in our basement the following weekend. I am aniticipating being a good host. Hope I don't regret it. Good luck to all my out Mayday pals. I will keep you all posted since I seem to be the earliest so far.

I just got a date of May 6th. I am so excited, nervous and afraid I might bust. Best of luck to you and all other Maybands.

Appointment with surgeon tomorrow
jaylow replied to globally yours's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm seeing my surgeon tomorrow also. Please post and let me know how it goes. I'm so excited and nervouse. Started the process in December. Thanks. You posted looking for help and instead it seems people are looking to you. -
I have not had surgery yet but have been put on a high protein low carb diet and have lost 28 lbs. I'm excited but at the same time having a panic attack at my weight loss. I am now fitting into regular sized extra large clothes and for some reason I felt nervous while buying my new clothes. Has anyone else felt excitement and panic while losing weight or should I be signing myself up for some major therapy.

My weight loss is hurting my sister
jaylow replied to Shinyhappymommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
my sister and I went to the same general info meeting. She decided it wasn't for her and continued to gain weight. I never said a word to her except that I was in the prep stage and it was very difficult. She has now started to do ATKINS and calls me for advice on how to eat better protein, best crystal light flavors etc. I think if you don't discuss it often but just mention it enough so she feels you are not keeping her out of the loop it will help. I then call my thin sister to discuss my weight loss. Good luck -
I also spent many years as a bulimic. I knew it was in my doctors record as I had a short relapse 6 years ago. Went for therapy immediately and beat it again. Needless to say I confessed. They watched me a little more carefully than some of their other candidates and perhaps I am asked to wait longer as I started in December and they still have not submitted the paper work. I am happy with my deicision.
