    onester

It took a full year but I'm finally a onester. 198.5 this morning. Only 44 lbs so far, but still happy.
  2. Banded in May 2008. This morning I was 198.5. Only 44 pounds so far but still happy I'm on this venture.
  3. I have had my band just over a year and in the last few days I have had a dull pain near my port site. has anyone else experienced this pain. It almost feels like a gas pain?

    May 2008 Slow Losers

I had my band on 5/6/2008. I have lost only 40 lbs. I am still happy I got the band although it has been a slow process. I am at 202 and working hard to become a onester. I'm glad I'm not alone though. Anyone else embarrased to go to the doctor because I haven't lost enough weight
  5. I am 7 months post op. I have sprained my ankle. I know they recommend Tylenol over ibuprofen but I was wondering if anyone has taken ibuprofen and if their has been any bad side effects if you have. I have been sticking with Tylenol but it has not been relieving the pain much.
  6. I have the exact same situation. Lost 27lbs at pre op diet and only 32 in total. I'm trying to tell myself that is 32 lbs I probably would not have lost. I also sprained my ankle so I have not been exercising for 6 weeks. It is still better than the gaining 10 lbs I've been doing every year. Think of it that way
  7. I got my 3rd fill two weeks ago. First two did not do a thing. On this fill I am full after a small amount of eating but like the food and want to continue after I feel full. Thank I start to PB and or throw up. How have you been treating the psychological party of over eating???
  8. I have very little restriction. I got a band on 5/6/08. I have lost about 32lbs and can't seem to lose anymore. The problem is I know I need another fill and can't bring myself to call and make an appointment to get one. It seems that I'm mentally stuck. I can and do eat tremendous amounts of food but have not gained or lost any more weight.
  9. I lost 25 lbs in my pre op diet. I have only lost 3 lbs since my lap band in May. I am still happy I got the band. I have not gained back any weight. This is important as I would have otherwise. I am now determined to get back on track, get another fill and and make my band work. I hope the same for you. Good luck, it was not a mistake.
  10. I felt really sick yesterday. I could not stop the pain and forced myself to throw up maybe six times in an attempt to feel better. Today, I am having pain on my side. How do I know if my band has slipped. Does anyone know what it feels like? I'm a bit panicky now. It is not a bulimic thing. I ate a small amount of chicken but it just would not go down. Thanks for any advice.
  11. thanks for the info. I only have a slight nagging pain on my left side. I am sticking to liquids but they go down no problem. Hopefully, i'm ok. I think I'm sticking to fish and vegetarian life style for a bit.
  12. Hi, I noticed there are times of the day, usually lunch time that I can eat tremendous amounts of food for a person with a lap band and other times of the day, I feel sick on almost nothing. I am not losing weight. Does this happen to others? I'm wondering if I need another fill, but worry since I can almost never eat dinner.
  13. I had my band on 5/6/08. I have since had two fills and have absolutely no restriction what so ever. I can eat large quantities of protein, bread etc nothing get stucks and nothing feels different. I have gained back five lbs. I had lost 30 lbs before the surgery so am still looking better but I am beginning to wonder if this will work and all. I am very frustrated. Has anyone else had this and then finally hit a sweet spot. I think if I had hope I could get back on track.
  14. I was one of those people who had two fills and could still eat an entire chicken. Last Friday I went for yet another fill and now understand what restriction is. I pb whenever I eat chicken. I am full on 1/2 an english muffin with protein on it. I am now eating like a normal person. of course, it has been 5 days and I haven't lost any weight but that is OK. I think you have to be really forthcoming with your doctor. I really complained about the lack of restriction and they put in 2 more cc's. Stick with it and continue to go for fills.

  16. I just wrote an e-mail stating the same thing. I have had two fills and nothing has changed. I am not losing weight any more and eating too much. After reading your post I am going to stop feeling sorry for myself and go on the treadmill.

    What the??

I just posted that I was banded in the beginning of May have had two fills and absolutely no restriction. Sooo frustrating. Hope things pick up for all of us.
  18. I'm so glad I'm not the only one feeling this way. I was banded 5/6/08. I had my first fill two weeks ago and I can eat an entire chicken no problem. I have gained two pounds since my surgery. It is very disheartening. I hope the next fill does the trick.
  19. Thank you to everyone who wrote back. I am usually very good. I am going to call my therapist and stay on clear liquids till I feel better
  20. I am feeling so sick. I had my first fill on Friday. It has not done one thing for me. I am feeling so bad for myself and I ate 2 sandwiches with chips two candy bars and a huge piece of cake. I feel so sick now I can't tell you. Has anyone else done this? Do you think I did huge damage to my band. I really feel ill. Thanks for any help
  21. I just had my first fill ab out 3 hours ago. I am on liquids only and so far have just had some Crystal Light. The problem is that I feel like I could eat everything in sight. I am starving. I am going to stick with the liquids but I'm just wondering if anyone else feels really hungry after a fill.
  22. I am getting my first fill on Friday. I have plans that night to go out to the movies, dinner and dancing with the girls afterwards. They all know I have had the band. I'm wondering if people tend to feel sick after a fill, and I should bow out of my plans, or if I am careful with my eating should I feel OK. I appreciate the feedback.
  23. Hi, I have a Realize Band and am getting my first fill next Friday. I am anxious to know what the restriction will be like because I am eating way to much. I'm mostly eating protein but can down 6-8 oz. no problem.
  24. I have not been on Depro Provero but since I got my band (5/6/08) I have been spotting. It seems that my hormone levels have been changing and my bcp no longer is effective. They are trying me on a stronger pill. I have lost 30lbs. It seems our bodies do change a little as we change weight.
  25. banded on the sixth. Going to get a fill on the 13th. Really can't wait as right now I can eat plenty.
