Wow!!! My surgery is on the 29th.. I am so thankful to have read this entire conversation!! I'm choosing to have wls because I want this tool to help me with my new lifestyle. During this process I've even finished the Marine Corp 10k in Washington DC.. However my eating has always been a struggle.. Not from sweets or fats but because of volume.. Reading this forum has given me a realistic perspective that my relationship with food and my new stomach comes with a learning curve. I didn't decide to get this surgery to keep on keeping on.. I want the lifestyle change, I'm ready for it and I will not let myself down anymore. Thanks for sharing your opinions and experiences... It truly helps!

Oh my gosh... I'm think the pre op diet is gonna kick my butt!! I'll do it tho..

Great to have you here Chi2Htown !! Yes I do have the jitters too... I'm not sure if the jitters are from worrying if I'm doing the right thing, worrying on how it will feel or maybe I'm Amped Up to get it done already... Not sure.. It took forever to go thru all the hoops to get here and now it's in a couple weeks.. Life is gonna change big time... Good for us we deserve it!

Looks like everything is going very good for you... Exciting!! My pre.op diet starts Monday... I'm so looking forward to this journey.., keep your updates coming I look forward to them daily!!

I never thought I would let little stuff bother me because I'm pretty much an open book... Well I kept my journey to myself, family and of course my employer because of using my insurance... Everyone seemed to be very supportive... I don't know why I thought I was any different or why I thought I'd be immune to people's opinions.. but I guess I'm not.. Peoples opinions and statements can be flat out hateful and unsympathetic.. I've heard "your better than that," "you just have to put more time in at the gym," "I knew someone who does from that," " it's all in your mind." I wish I said nothing to anyone..

7 days after the sent my clinical's into the insurance company I was approved and told my surgery and pre op diet dates.. Was a long 7 days of anticipation tho. Good luck!!

My story is very similar and my date is Feb 29th (leap year) too.. I'm going to start a Feb 29tread for us, it would be awesome for us to keep in touch on our journeys...

Thanks for the replies... Usually comments don't bother me but it was getting old.. Your right my decision and I know it's the right call in my situation.. No matter what anyone else says, no matter the limitations and pain with getting the sleeve I know in the long run it will be the right call.. ????????

If you are concerned about a sketchy payment I am willing to bet you'll be even sketchy about being operated on by him

I know it's wheel power.. I worked night shift and late night shifts since 1999... So I'm used to sleeping till noon and being up all night working. They switched my shift and now I get off a little earlier (8pm) and now I am up all night.. So of course I can't sleep even prescribed sleep meds. This is gonna be a challenge!! I start the 2 week liquid diet the 15th.

Yesterday I was called and told my date is Feb 29th... Leap year!!

Got my date !! They just called and told me I was approved, gave me my pre- op diet date and surgery date!!

Haha... I know right!! Hopefully I'll be running a marathon by then!!
