In early December of 2015 I made the decision that hopefully will change my life forever.  I decided after years of living in an obese body – it was time to change.  I have been overweight all of my adult life and the better part of my youth. I’ve been on every diet known – most of them more than once – and even after short term success, the weight always returned and usually with a few extra pounds.  Because it never really stopped me from doing what I wanted to do, it never really bothered me – until this past year.
I’m very fortunate  that I don’t have high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol or anything else that is usually attributed to obesity.  However, this year has been extremely difficult on me from an orthopedic view.  In late spring I twisted my lower ankle and spent months in a walking boot – custom orthotics and still have trouble walking for any great distance.  After having a conversation with my hair stylist, who recently dropped 150 lbs after having weight loss surgery – I decided it was time to consider surgery as an option.
After researching, talking to myself (literally) and others, I decided to take the next step.  A few weeks later I signed up for a weight loss seminar to find out more about surgical options.  I then met with a surgeon, Dr. Moore and started the ball rolling.  My surgery is scheduled for February 16, 2016.
