I'm about 1.5 years out, and have been having acid reflux at night after I go to bed. Anyone else have this problem?
-
Also...it just seems like anything I eat now makes my stomach burn! I'm on Celebrex (an NSAID for my arthritis) but I take a Pepcid each day as per my bariatric dr.'s orders. School will be out in a few weeks....so maybe I could go off the Celebrex for the summer.

It's better if I don't eat for a few hours before bed. Seems like I've been having issues lately....I think it could be because I'm eating too much. I need to get back with the program!!!!

Thanks, I've eaten these things before and have never been bothered, but whew!

Hi, I had nachos last night at a ballgame--had a few jalapenos. A few hours later my stomach really hurt. Still hurts this morning. Think it's because it took the jalapenos a while to pass through the band? Seems like my Protein bar even irritated my stomach today. I've taken a few rolaids and it IS better. Any thing out there that you all avoid like that?

Yes, I'm much better today! Thanks!!! It's been about 2.5 years.

I have not had issues until now. I do (or did) have sleep apnea, but I have a cpap machine now. Had it about 5 years.
-
Ok. I think I've heard of this......Thanks!!
-
What is dilation? I've not heard of that.

Yes! We were even told that at our pre-op seminars.

You are doing great! Everyone hits that slump every now and then! Still--you are better than you were before! Keep it up!

Wow! One meal a day? I wish I had your willpower!!!

Lisacaron, you are SOOOO right! That's crossed my mind a time or two as well. I even worry that because I've overeaten several times that I've 'messed' the band up. It's so much more psychological than physical. I will reread your post later--thanks for posting it.

I never buy junk, but at work, it's around! I was told not to eat rice after I got my band. A fellow teacher said she tried it and felt like she was blowing up like a balloon!

Wish I had your will power!

I work in a school too, as a school counselor. About 10:00 of 10:30 a.m., I start wanting to snack because of stress. It's hard!!!

Yes, I tried eating tuna out of the pouch and it wasn't going to go down....chewing did no good--just made it drier. I had a fill a while back that really restricted me, too. It was difficult eating out. I went a while before my next fill and I'm better now.

Why did you have to be banded again? -
I have no regrets at all! It wasn't a 'hard' surgery. I had mine done on a Thursday, and took off Friday and was back to work on Monday, but I was never sore, or anything. Do you think those that are trying to talk you out of it are trying to sabatoge you in some way? Maybe they don't want you to lose! Probably not-but just putting that out there. I waited a long time to lose and still have some to go, but I'm happy with the 70 lbs I've lost. I'd be happy if I lost another 40 or so.

Sounds like you are on the right track. I'm always afraid if I overeat, just a time or two, I'm going to stretch everything out and ruin the whole lapband! I got my band in Sept. 2014 and as of today, I'm down 70 lbs. -

Very inspirational! I was banded in September, 2014. I've lost about 60 lbs. total. I lost more when my band was tighter, but when I are, everything seemed to get stuck. It's a little looser now, and I feel better. I just can't seem to NOT snack while at work!! I need support!
