Bummed Out After Watching "My 600 Lb Life: Where Are They Now?"
CanadaLoser replied to Proud2BMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They key of me is keeping myself accountable. I know it's a delicate balance with weighing too much, but keeping my eye on the scale keeps me accountable. It will help me stop it from creeping up. -
How long was your process?
CanadaLoser replied to charley27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was self pay. Thought about it for years. Really researched for a month, picked a Dr and booked it. From the time I decided to do it until it was over was 6 weeks! -
Who else got sleeved on the 28th of march?

That seems like a good amount to me. Slow and steady is better then rapid weight loss. [emoji3] -
Losing hair/hope/everything but weight
CanadaLoser replied to carrie3101's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so with you. I'm two and mouths out and have totally stalled. I was losing so great but the last two weeks nothing. I'm positive it's because im suddenly struggling to get my Protein and calories. Not getting enough makes your body hold the calories. It's better to eat a bit more to ensure your body isn't in starvation mode. I have the same starting weight as you. -
You can also just buy one instead of stealing.

I am exactly 7 weeks out today and until about a week ago I was doing just fine - I could tolerate everything and was doing really well with both Water and Protein. Well that's all changed....now nothing seems to agree with me. My stomach feels icky/nauseous every time I eat (or even think about eating). I'm not getting my protein, not getting nearly enough liquid and fighting to get about 600-700 calories a day. Has anyone else gone through this? Any suggestions or tips? It's getting really frustrating! Not to mention my weight has stalled for over a week as I'm not getting enough calories. And I dont have any energy to exercise.

I can't eat anything :(
CanadaLoser replied to CanadaLoser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes - iron, b12, calcium, biotin and a multi. My levels are all really good - was just tested the other day. The Dr said I should be closer to 1000 a day now. And I was getting into the 900s for a few weeks....and that's when I was losing. Now I'm not losing. -
Who else got sleeved on the 28th of march?
CanadaLoser replied to elaina831's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on March 30th and I am having a hell of a time lately. Nothing agrees with my tummy and I can't even stomach liquid. So needless to say I'm not getting enough calories or liquids. And I have been stalled for a while. It's so frustrating! Did anyone else become intolerant of food that they were tolerating just a few weeks ago? -
TMI: My first BM
CanadaLoser replied to lisamstevens's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Constipation is the worst. Do some of you take MOM every day to preemptively combat this issue? -
I sound like a bath tub!

Change in taste buds
CanadaLoser replied to kmvalade's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 weeks out and what I ate for the last 6 weeks is not working for me anymore. I can stand cheese strings, almonds, ham, and chicken is borderline. Ugh. -
Did anyone not experience hair loss?
CanadaLoser replied to shannon m.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

How long before a BM? 9 days post op
CanadaLoser replied to RellaBelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 3/30 and wasn't having any movement but was feeling very uncomfortable. I tried Smooth Move tea and nothing happened. Tried Mirolax and nothing happened. Finally went to Milk of Magnesia and after the 3nd dose.... Oh boy!! Let's just say I'm cleaned out! Lol And I feel soooooo much better!!! -

Inverted gastric sleeve
CanadaLoser replied to LMolina1987's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is the only way my surgeon does vgs and his complication rates are incredibly low. They are truly iron sleeves! -
Unflavored (or preferably flavorless) protein powders
CanadaLoser replied to farooforever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Unjury unflavoured is great. I don't taste it in smoothies or anything. -
I like the Premier Protein. You can get them at Costco and the premixed ones are great

2016 March Sleevers
CanadaLoser replied to AnnetteMcM's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm up for surgery March 18th and this pre-op diet is KILLING ME. I can only have a shake up to 3 times a day and 1 salad (lettuce only) which chicken, clear dressing (balsamic). I am dying for something crunchy! I'm not tempted by sweets or junk food, I just want crunch! How is everyone else doing? -
Dr. Altamirano or Dr. Zarvalza?
CanadaLoser replied to DebbieRN's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Im booked with Dr A for a few weeks from now and I can't wait. I am a member of his support groups on Facebook where he is super active and he has always been available to answer questions I have in a super timely manner. I have heard absolutely nothing but wonderful things about him! -
Cruise Pre-op
CanadaLoser replied to Momwith3minions's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is mid March and I'm in Hawaii right now. I will do a 2 week preop diet starting as soon as I get home and be ready for surgery! I say do it and have the surgery shortly after you get home. -
I almost went with him but then I found Dr Carlos Altimitano. He's very similar and cheaper. He offers free Skype consults, chats with everyone via FB when you have questions or concerns and comes highly recommended. I'm so happy with my choice.
