POLL Does Everyone Lose Their Hair??
katiebug replied to KariK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thank you for the feedback. I haven't been "pullfree" in several months now, but it has been dramatically reduced. My hair has been growing very slowly and thin which isn't normal. It normally grows super fast & very thick. But I am extremely grateful that is coming back as well as it is. Ugh! I worry about my hair almost more than my weight. -
Ive lost a leg and a brain what about you?
katiebug replied to chillie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've lost a cinder block! Just yesterday I mentioned to my sister I had lost as much as an entire kid in my class. They are three. -

POLL Does Everyone Lose Their Hair??
katiebug replied to KariK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This may be a long shot, but does anyone here suffer from Trichotillomania? Pulling out their hair...? I've been pulling out my hair for over ten years now, so I have obvious bald spots and extremely thin hair. I figure my hairloss/growth will be way different than most of you because this, & I was just wondering if anyone else may know what I'm talking about. -
I'm a preschool teacher. I work with 1-5 year olds but my main classroom is 3 year olds. I love it.

Congratulations, Allison! My name's Katie & I've been banded for almost three months now with no real disappointments. I haven't been to school since I've had it, but it isn't band related. I work with kids, & the band hasn't slowed me down. It's really only gotten easier. There's no difference with my friends. My two best friends haven't actually even said anything about it yet. But they aren't like non-supportive. Dating wise... I'm not one to talk to... & as for my parents.... 239847239847293847% supportive. If they cared any more, I don't know what I'd do! Haha.

Today a mom from the daycare I work at told me she had gastric bypass five years ago & it's been great, blah blah blah. I'm thinking to myself: "WHY is she telling me this?!" Our receptionist up front just "somehow" brought up that I had been banded. I mean, wow. But she was super sweet about it, the mom was. The point of me saying this is once you tell someone you can't keep them from telling others... I guess that's my point.

I told people & haven't really gotten any bad feedback. The constant eyes watching everything I eat is very frustrating though.

It is extremely annoying... but to each their own.

I know, it made me want to cry.

That is very depressing. I'm so sorry about the setbacks, yet super glad that you're approved... once again! I was fortunate enough to be approved my second time around & it happened pretty immediately there after.

Yes, I love my job. & they also tell me I need to find someone to settle down & have kids with. They don't hate on just dating for funsies though either, they just want me to have someone. It's cute.

It's these crazy ladies I work with, I really don't mind. It's not that I should just get one now, but especially now. They've been telling me I should have a boyfriend for a year & a half now. They always tell me I have such a lovely face haha. But she is very excited for me. She is from... some crazy islands that I can never remember, but yeah. She has two sisters that also work there with me & my sister, so it's all fun.

People at work will tell me on a daily basis that all I need is a boyfriend & now that I'm losing weight I should have one... Now, I don't take it too seriously, or to heart, but hearing it everyday... it makes it hard to get out of your head, you know?

I was in that same position. A little over a year ago (I was 17 & a half) was when I first went to find out about lapband & it turns out my surgeon was willing to band me, but my insurance said I had to be 18. My surgeon didn't ask me to lose any weight, but I did actually have to gain about 10lb in order for my insurance to approve. Where are you from & how far are you willing to drive?
-
Haha! This really made me laugh!

Mine is on my left side, above & to the left of my bellybutton. I have one major incision & four little ones & two little dots from the morphine drip thingy I had going on.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
katiebug replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just got my first fill today & my doctor gave me 1.5cc. I thought it was way too much for like half an hour but now (four hours later) I feel like I could stand to have a little more put in. But I know that I could take a couple weeks for it to kick in, so no frets. I am damn sure that I'm ready to lose some weight though. /rantishness -
I live a mile from my work, so maybe I'll walk there tomorrow. & it's a good thing about that cold weather thing, because it hasn't gotten any warmer.

I knew it! I figured once I got down, most people would still just remember me as "Fat Katie" & be like weird.

Marijuana Use After Surgery
katiebug replied to KBates's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the concern. Maybe some day I will stop smoking, but I'm okay in that department for now. -
Marijuana Use After Surgery

Yeah, I tried Salvia once, thinking it would just be intense weed... god no. I was trapped in Pee Wee's Playhouse! No more of that for me, thanks. -

I was never told to stop smoking. I'm like 6 weeks post-op & no problems. -

Why would you even post something like that? This is a thread regarding marijuana use, not to belittle people.
