My patient advocate told me she submitted my paperwork on Friday, I called Cigna yesterday and today just to see if it had been submitted and it hasn't been She lied and I'm upset about it. I called and spoke to her and she said she meant to submit it on Friday, but didn't. ((So why did you call and tell me it was submitted?!?))) Cigna still doesn't have the paperwork. I feel like she's jerking me around and making me wait for no reason. She said she would "try" and submit it today. I'm sure everyone says this but I am on a short time table. My husband is in grad school and I have 2 kids under 2. I need this surgery before he goes back to school next month. My doctor requires a 2 week liquid diet before surgery, so I'm down to the wire. New twist to the story. I'm freaking out! I called the office manager and she told me my surgeon is leaving the practice at the end of the month, so if my approval isn't in by then- I'll have to transfer to his new practice and resubmit. My last weigh in is Thursday. 6 month diet was a complete waste of time. I weighed in earlier this month (to get on birth control with my gp) and I was down to 265. I know it was because I had food poisoning 2 nights before and had it coming out both ends for those 2 days. I'm nervous because I go in Thursday for my last appt with my NUT. I weighed today and I'm back up to 270. I started my 6 months at 275. Do you think my insurance will take my weight at any point during the month or does it have to be the last day of my 6 months? Does that make sense? I'd rather then see I lost 10 pounds rather than 5. Even though my weight is back up. Honestly I don't see how it makes a difference for the approval process. I could see how it could make a difference for the actual surgery, but I'll be required to be on a 2 week liquid diet- which I'm sure I'll lose some. Thoughts? I feel like 6 months is way too long, it actually makes me angry to think I could be 50 pounds lighter right now if the wait period was only 3 months instead.Honestly, I've learned nothing. My last weigh in is next week to end my 6 month required diet, before they submit my paperwork to insurance. I have been waiting for so long, I'm tired of waiting. Time has gone by at a snails pace. I feel like it's so close, yet so far away. My children (age 1 and 2 1/2) have been extra horrible lately, because it's just too hot outside to do anything (117 in AZ) and I have no energy to take them anywhere. Most likely I'll be in July! I don't think I could be any more excited than I am! My last weigh in (for my 6 month diet) is June 29! I spoke to my surgeons assistant and found out they are going to expedite my request because I have 2 kids under 2 and my husband goes back to school (masters program) at the beginning of August. I get boils all the time, they are so painful. I cover them with mole skin or callus band aids. That way they aren't further irratated by the constant rubbing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
