  1. The surgeons that are doing my sleeve said they haven't done a gastric band in over two years because people have so much more success and are happy with the sleeve. I am sorry they made you feel bad! Sounds like you are doing awesome and should be proud of your accomplishment! I hope your stall is over soon.
  2. Does anyone backpack? I love backpacking and know I will love it even more when I weigh 80-100 lbs less! However, I am concerned about keeping my energy up enough to hike 10+ miles for multiple days. Many backpackers cram calories in to maintain the energy they need. And I feel like I have to do that now when I backpack...I wonder 1)if my body will adjust to my new eating style and won't need to eat as much to feel like I have the energy and 2)if I do need to eat more calories to hike if I will be able to do that after being sleeved. I worry I will only be able to eat a few tablespoons and that won't give me enough fuel to hike for a long time. Any insight? Thanks!

    Before and After Pics

I am so impressed by you!! I am also 5'10" it's hard to find ladies as tall as us!! At my heaviest I was 296. I just started a pre-diet before I start my liquids a couple weeks ago and am down to 285. I get sleeved 2/18. I would love to chat if interested!! I am 5'11 and 285 lbs. I just had my first preop apt last week so hoping to be sleeved late spring early summer. I also like seeing other tall ladies!!

  8. Same here! I am tall, very active, and healthy - so most people think it is crazy too. My sisters understand how hard I have tried to lose weight and that my joints are hurting now and they are super excited for me But to the average person I think they don't think I fit their preconceived notions of the size/type of person that has weight loss surgery. However, I met with the surgeon last week and they were very excited for me as well and think I will do great. I am keeping the surgery to myself and my family right now though because I don't want the comments.
