    Changing Goal Weight

my goal weight is 120 because i weighed between 108 to 120 till i was 44 and hit menoupause so i want to go back to the top weight i figure i'm 10 years older so i took the top weight! lol my feet starting hurting horribly at 150 so i know that is still too big for my feet (lol) and i'm only 5'3". that would be 104 total weight loss for me....can't even imagine that i put myself in this place; but i'm going to dig my weigh out. Jeanie

    First Fill!!!

HI everyone, sounds like you are all still doing great. i'm jealous of all these fills. hehehe this thursday will be week 5 for me so i think i will schedule one. i do not feel any restriction now and am hungry; both for about 3 days now. Friday i binged and thought "oh no, what have i done, besides eat all day!" then i counted it all up and it was 1200 calories. lol, like that would have been a starvation diet for me before. i'm stuck at 17 pounds though. Did everyone have a flouro for the first one? i don't know if i should ask for that or not? i got mine in Mexico so i now go to a person that gives fills where i live to all who needs them and not just if one was operated on by a particular doctor. They just got the machine i heard and only use it on Fridays. What do you think? I want to lose some more weight and i want to feel very full. thanks, Jeanie

    Calling all February Bandsters!

ok, i'm not on solids so it will be easier then. and i don't like cottage cheese AT ALL. lol i have been using the eggbeaters for breakfast or hot ceral. at this point most my protein comes from liquid and that just doesn't fill me, goes pretty much right thru. i get close enough for another week, then i can eat stuff like tuna and chicken. and protein bars. Thank you very much! Jeanie

    Calling all February Bandsters!

well look at you, Ready to go! you are definitely on your way! 19 pounds at 2 weeks is excellant. keep it up! isn't it encouraging? Green Chrysallis, what is it you get 60 proteins from? i don't seem to be able to get that and stay under a 1000 calories so i choose to stay under the 1000 calories or very close to 1000. if i drink one of my muscle milk with 230 calories, that's almost a meal in itself and being liquid it just right down so i'm not feeling full from it, that isn't 1/3 of the protein i'm suppose to get. how do you do it? lol help! jeanie

    Calling all February Bandsters!

Hi everyone. I'm 3 weeks out now and have lost 15 pounds, that is as of 3 days ago when i weighed. i eat a cup to 1.5 cups of food at a time (once or twice a day), then i have a protein drink and that is 230 calories so that is my breakfast. still on the mushies and i stay under 1000 calories a day. it slowed way down once i started on the mushies. what is the name of the GNC protein powder with no taste. it really doesn't taste? i do drink muscle milk now and then it has 22 or 27 protein in it. i eat no fat refried beans with salsa and some cheese or some smash avocado. i eat mashed potatoes with little cheese and no fat sour cream and once i put 3 smashed meat balls with it. yum! i feel like i'm eating so slow and yet i'm not feeling full till way after i eat. i have found if i eat too fast or too much i get a sharp pain in my shoulder and told that was a soft sign. darn thing doesn't happen till it's too late though. lol i have also experienced the runny nose and that tells me to quit now. i have not even had one little burp since my operation. I like that. I will probably get a fill at the end of the month. i want to lose more and feeling like i will be able to do this. We are all doing great and we really are a bunch of big losers....and proud of it. :cursing: does any one know what NSV stand for? Jeanie

    Full Liquid Stage Recipies

i have a Protein shake in the morning, vanilla powder protein stuff from trader joe's, add 1 cup milk and a banana and a pack of splenda and crushed ice. blend and it's like a yummy milk shake at 263 calories. I have mashed potatoes and put some cheese on top (add garlice sometimes) and put in my big muffin tin (holds 1 cup each) and bake for a while, eat one with no fat sour cream. and put the others in fridge and or freezer. I take 1/3 of a can of spicey refried Beans and sprinkle a little cheese on top and heat up. then i mash up 1/2 avocado and mix with no fat sour cream and layer on top and a couple tablespoons of salsa on top. very yummy. this can add up to 400 calories so it's my dinner. i have also found that if i eat too fast or too much my left shoulder pain comes back in full force, had to take 2 pain pills once but someone told me this is a soft sign for those reasons...I'm learning! i have not had on PB or sliming yet...i'm greatful for that. had a fudgecycle at Bingo the other night and it was only 130 calories! it was good but was melting every where before I could finish it. sugar free pudding cups are only 60 calories. I'm trying to stay between 900 and 1000 calories now that i'm in the mushy stage. :sneaky: are you counting calories or anythng everybody? Jeanie

    Calling all February Bandsters!

Good for you Mrs. Jones! :w00t: did the fill hurt or bother you in anyway? how much food can you eat at a time? so you may have just gotten the right amount on your first fill? did you do it with flouro? come on tell us even newer newbies. lol I my doctor is conservative i think because he is over 1000 miles away. :huggie:
  8. Congratulations Jaunderwood! take it easy because you may not feel to much pain because of the pain meds. lol, I took those for 4 days and then didn't need them at all. I'm still not hungry and it's day 7 or 8. appreciate it now and sip on that water. :rolleyes2: You are going to love it! Jeanie

My surgery and weird reaction to anestesia

Crystal, so glad the throwing up is done. Hope you are feeling better, that must have hurt. I had a catheter in to prevent the peeing part, didn't want it but now i'm glad i did since I was in and out till for a while. they took it out about 3 hours after when it was safe. lol I haven't burped once and I'm on day 6. the first couple days i chewed gas x for just incase of case since my daughter was staying with me and I didn't want to scare her out of the hospital room. lol Welcome to the band side! Jeanie url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] [/url]
  10. Hi Gibson, So glad to hear your surgery went without a hitch! Hope you have no more nausea though. No shoulder pain for you? I had the dreaded shoulder pain but the hot pad always kept it away. sometime when I took it off it would start right away again. It's been 2 days with none don't know if that means it's gone or just on a mini vacation. lol, hope you don't get that too. :blushing: Good luck, and welcome to the banded side. Jeanie

    Let's talk about diet

I'm very confused about all the differences in the diet from doctor to doctor. Why is it? Isn't this operation the same for all? why is there so much difference in the liquid/food eating from doctor to doctor? sound really weird to me. then every one has to follow their doctor's orders, but yet if I went to another doctor I'd be eating differently? I just don't understand, seems they should be all the same because it almost sounds like it doesn't matter since there are so many different amount of days for Clear liquids and then purreed foods, then mushy foods and then solids. Maybe it really doesn't matter? I'm so confused about this part, does anyone have a reasonable explanation? lol I was told also not to get a fill for 6 weeks, why does that very also? Good subject. Thanks for bringing it up. :blushing: Jeanie

    Ok, Train me!

sorry about 1/2 that post up there being for another one! yikes, i hit paste for the ticker and the other message i replied to came out. you probably thought i was nuts! lol Jeanie
  13. Jeanieg6

    Ok, Train me!

Isn't that awfully soon to start already? Besides walking I'm not doing anything with weights till absolutely healed. I'm afraid, I'm a weanie? hehehe, I don't wan't to jepordize any of this healing process, I was thinking around 4 weeks to be sure. :blushing: But then I'm just 6 days out so I'm still sore and nervous. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Jeanie Wow Shel, your experience sounded awful, hope you are doing better now. I can't imagine all that. I had mine 3 days before you. Mine went well when I got back to my room I had an IV with fluids and pain meds. I was out of it basically till the next day. My incissions still hurt, not horrid but they are uncomfortable. The port the worst of course. On Day 2 I went shopping so I could get some walking in but I was on pain meds so it wasn't too bad. lol I quit all pain meds on day 4. My diet is/was: clear liquids for the first 3 days and then (now) day 4 thru day 14 purreed foods thin enough to go thru a straw (i don't have to use the straw), then day 15 thru day 30 is soft mush foods, day 31 and on is regular foods. I feel actually really good and i get full really quick and have lost 8 pounds. So sorry to hear about the crushed yucky meds you have, can't they get it in a liquid or anthing like that for you? It will be so nice when you are off that one for sure. I'm hoping the worst is over for you though and keep us posted on your progress! good luck. Hugs, Jeanie

    I did it!

had my surgery on the 21st in Mexico. I spent the night before and the next night in the hospital and then we (my daughter went with me) went to the hotel they pay for you to go to for a couple nights, i stayed 3 nights. was out of it most of the the 21st of course and very sore on the 22nd, day 1. On the 23rd, day 2, we went shopping for 4 hours...very slowly i must say. lol then on the 24th, day 3, went to the mall and went to 2 movies because i was tired but after walked around for 2 hours ... still slowly. then on day 5, we took a cab to Rosarito Beach and sat on the beach by a fire sipping a Papiya (?) smoothie, finally something other than the dreaded broth and jello! it was so good, it was huge and took me at least an hour to drink. it was a chilly day there. then we went shopping and caught a cab back to the hotel to be picked up and taken to the airport. Got home last night by midnight. I was so excited to sleep in my bed as the bed in the hotel is like sleeping on a board, my daughter love it. lol got home and the lady that stayed here to watch my house and dogs left a note saying she was changing the sheets for me and the bed broke and she couldn't fix it and sat at a slant so i had to sleep in my guest room with 3 tiny dogs in a single bed! i'll have to find some one to come fix it since i can't lift the mattress just yet or for a few weeks. I'm sure my friend felt horrible about it poor girl but i least i have a comfy spare bed. i've lost 5 pounds, maybe 6! wooo hooo! i got the gass pain in the left shoulder though, the one thing i didn't want. no pb's or sliming either Michelle, i'm thankfull for that. i took the whole week off this week and glad i did so i'll be in tip top shape when i go back, besides there are some slide shows i wanted to create and that isn't a lot of lifting, lol, but time consuming. i'm going to have a Protein drink this morning and i'm looking forward to that. had tomato Soup at the hotel before leaving, that was great. i'm on smoothie consistancy food till day 14 now and then i go to mushy food till day 30 and then regular food of what i can eat and then get my fill at week 6. I feel pretty good today. Good thing one dog only weighs 6 pounds and the other 2 weigh only 4.5 pounds. Jeanie PS: i'm going to go get me a ticker today to proudly show from now on.

    Calling all February Bandsters!

Hi Everyone, I'm Jeanie and I will be banded on February 21. Having it done by Dr. Kuri in Mexico. I'm very excited! I was always thin (oh if i gained 5 pounds i thought I was going to die! lol) then after hitting Menopause in my early mid 40's my weight just poured on, can't get full and i also have tried so many diets and just gain more back and now that i need to lose 100 pounds at age 55 I decide just to do what i'm sure will work. I've been trying the way everyone wanted me to and obviously after all these years i have to say i need help and I'm ok with that. I'm happy about it and glad to know there are so many here doing this in February. looks like i'm the last one in February so far so keep me posted...about every thing ok? Good luck to all of us! Thanks for letting me share. Jeanie
