    Calling all February Bandsters!

You won't regret the decission to get thin again! :w00t: It's been one year this month for me and I've lost 72 lbs of the 100 I wanted to lose. I'm happy with it. It isn't easy and it isn't magic and can be painful to some degree but I don't care about anything besides being healthy and thin again. Getting my life back and not being so uncomfortable. I step on the scale at least 5 times a week to make sure things are ok and not going backwards. I was in size 20 and now 12. I can't wait for size 8 again. If you can at least walk for exercise do that. and build up slowly to speed and farness. don't over do it and get hurt over it and get a set back. You will get where you want to be with this tool if you follow the band rules. I'm excited for you. :glare: I went to Mexico and paid for my own operation and I think that has made me stick to the rules because I had to borrow and will take 20 years to pay it off. lol if you can take two weeks off, I say also, "why not"? lol I took 2 weeks off also and thought that was just right for me to grasp it all also. Good luck to you shrinking violette! You will soon see all the little things that get so much more comfortable doing, walking, sitting, sleeping, everything! YOU CAN DO IT! :wink2: email me anytime. :w00t: hugs, Jeanie

I can really "feel" my port!

i can feel mine, it's like a lump amung the fat. lol the lady that gives me a fill asked me to do exercise so it will popl up easily when we need it to. She said to lie on my back and lift that leg and my head and do that 10 times a day everyday and it will be easy when it's fill time. i forget to do it. I've done it 2 times so it isn't working yet. lol

What food gets stuck the most?

i'm not sure everyday for 2 weeks something got stuck, no particular what or time, Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. what is stuck for you all and what do you do? things that got stuck and then later didn't: refried Beans, instant mash potatoes, egg beaters, hamburger and some other stuff. i have not had an episode for 3 days now. took all your advise and am staying on liquids and mushy food. :scared2: except i have had wheat thins and they have never given me a problem. I'm not going to try anything till Saturday I think. i have never tried bread, french fries, rice or Pasta. :blushing: I'm afraid. everyday i have oatmeal and never ever a problem with that. i just want to heal so i can go get a second fill in a few weeks and then maybe again. I don't get any full feeling yet. it sounds like everyone is different, isn't that kind of strange? I heard that before but it does seem strange to me. :confused2:

    If I were thinner I'd.....

get on a plane with squishing the person next to me and fly away to a tropical beach and lay around on the beach and go swimming for days and days! i used to do that and it was sooooooo fun! i'll never be in a bikini again but a really nice swim suit would be great to me. :tongue_smilie:

    Irrational fears

lol, well i am beginning to fear reading any more of these and getting any more fears instilled into my pea brain here. hehehe I fear pain a lot more then pain usually hurts. I always think "what if it hurts so much more than I can imagine?" don't talk about mice! i didn't know i feared them so much till i was in my car and my daughter was driving. a big plop on my foot....a mouse had flew out of the heater! and it was a live and i was screaming folded into a little ball in my seat(iwas small then). i was almost out of breath and i was crying she had to pull over and pretend she got it out, then told me later it was still in there! i wouldn't drive my car for days. Never had any idea i fear the little buggers. :tongue_smilie: My daughter that it was awfully funny though. I too fear standing to close to an edge...what if i get dizzy and fall? lol and i'm a total nervous wreck to see children by a ledge of anyting! 3jeanie

Thanks Karen, I went to group meeting tonight and they told me the same thing to do liquids and mushy food again for around 4 days, so i'll try that.

    About freaking time!!!---first fill

oh my, never heard of that! congrats on your first fill! let me know if all goes ok. i still can't burp or if i do it is so tiny i have to wonder if that is a burp. lol i still have a horrible pain when eating at least one meal every single day since my fill on April 1st, the joke was on me! i t feels like some one is stabbing me and can last from 10 minutes to 1hour plus. i don't know why something gets stuck every day. i am paying attention. never happens with hot Cereal or pudding or liquids of course but anything solid can get stuck there. i only had 1.6 and don't know if i'll ever get more if this does this every day for ever. i HAVE to stick my finger down my throat to get a burp for a little relief and if i puke it is just the slime. TMI? well i just don't know what to do. hoping yours goes really well!

How did you choose your username?

my name is jeanie and g is for my last name. every time i ever tried jeanie it was taken so i added g, it was taken and the 6 was the next one i could get so i use the same one for all online so i too won't forget which goes for which, jeanieg6 This is interesting. :rolleyes2:
  13. Iweighed 224 when i checked in to get banded, most I've weighed. From teen ager years to my 40's i weighed 106 to 120 (when i quit smoking) weighed 134 when i was pregnant in there also. i just hit under the 200 mark this morning! hip hip hooray! 199.8, lol.:biggrin2:
  14. Jeanieg6

What are you eating in a day?

i count calories because i need to learn the right amount, i used to make very bad judgments and i don't want that happening again. one can have the band and still get way too many calories in a little amount of food. i'm in a learning process yet.

Gas Pain In My Left Shoulder!! :[

there is hope! i had the really bad left shoulder pain for under two weeks although i know when i ate too much or something i felt like it would come back. someone told me about that and i finally saw the connection. the heating pad is the only thing that would help mine. Good luck and hang on to the fact that it will go away. some lucky people don't ever experience this! lol

I finally had a fill! YEAH!

    Had my first "stuck" moment!

This is what i was talking about the other day on here. I know what you mean on the pain, i compared it to labor pains. and it was about 3 days after my fill, then the 4th day and on the 5th day it was stuck for 1 hour and 15 minutes! The pain was in waves from bad to horrid. i'm on Prilosec 2 times a day for a week to heal it. I leaned and stretched back as far as i could in my dining room chair and after a bunch of times this made it unstick. it hurt so bad i couldn't even bend over and try and puke. Office slave be careful after the fill. They said i was extra sensitve also and the stoma swells way up for a while and to double the time everyone else does on liquids and mushies. I'm hungry too. lol Jeanie
  21. Jeanieg6

What food/drink do you miss the most?

wow, we can eat popcorn? i had no idea. and who said garlic bread...now i miss that! and who said lasagna? i want some! lol i love Peanut Butter and jelly sandwiches, so i think i'm missing that too. this thread is really making me hungry, good thing i can't eat right now. lol but as said, i like this losing weight business even more than missing my junk food (i think) .
  22. Jeanieg6

What are you eating in a day?

oh, also i have a question. I was told never to eat rice, bread or pasta and yet I see a lot of you are. it never gets stuck?

    Check in Febsters!

I started working out in our little gym at work today finally. I've been doing little work outs at home for 1.5 weeks and decided I'm ready to got to the real gym now. Does anyone have a suggestion to how to burp? i can't burp or puke when i have that horrid pain i get and I know that would help. I even tried to stick my finger down my throat and nothing. I'm on prilosec for 1 weeks now also. I just can't figure out what to do to releive that pain. I'm afraid now to try anything to eat. I feel like i'm a dog training with a shock collar! lol don't eat, or you get shocked. thanks
  24. Jeanieg6

What are you eating in a day?

well my eating isn't too good right now. since my 1st fill 1.6cc and then i had a 2nd fill .6 and unfill .6, I can't hardly eat anything without bad pain coming on except Oatmeal. I have a cup of that in the morning and some jell-o with a 2 tbl of fat free half and half on it. tonight i tried vegetarian refried beans (99% fat free) and had 3 little bites and had horrid pain again so i I just had chocolate Muscle Protein Drink (yum!) from costco. that has 240 calories and 22 or 27 Protein. I'm hungry, but I'm dieting through pain punishment. lol If my stoma doesn't calm down by this week end I just might go in and ask for a little more unfill. 1.6cc, should not be doing this to me. Think i just have to be a long time on liquids and mushies more than normal. I'm hungry, did I mention that before. lol I try to eat between 800 and 1100 calories, (when I can eat) anything less than that would be unreasonable for me and my life long goal. and 45 to 60 protein. I just started paying attention to the fat content also. l buy lean Cusines with meat and vegies only but I can't eat them now, wha! I'm hungry... I drink hot chicken broth to open and relax my stoma now but that doesn't work for long either. I don't like tea. ok, i'll stop complaining now. i can have sf fudgecycles though.
