I am in the final stages of my pre-op testing for my gastric sleeve surgery. It so far has been very easy with all the testing and dr appointments I've had to go through because of my insurance. They will re-approve my surgery once all my appointments are done. I am very lucky to have insurance that will help pay for this. It's been about 6 months since I started this process. This time has given me a lot of time to think and make sure I am doing what is right for me and no one else. This is my journey to make me healthy, feel good about myself and no one else. I have a few people that do not want me to do this surgery, especially my mom, but they don't understand what I have been going through mentally and physical as an over weight person for a most of my life. I know this is a life changing permanent procedure and it will be tough but in the long run it is what I feel is right for me. I have a very good doctor and staff that has been highly recommended to me. I wish myself all the strength, dedication and will power to follow through with my life's journey.
I hope joining the BariatricPal community will give me some insight and pre/post op recommendations to help me.
