I will be contacting my Bariatric specialist tomorrow but just wanted to find out if anyone else here has had this issue. My scale has NOT budged since my 2 week post op. appointment. I will be at 5 weeks post op. on Friday, April 1st and I am in the puree phase. I am following my program (both from surgeon and NUT) exactly and the inches are noticeably coming off (YAY) but my scale has not moved-what's up with that???? I get in between 45-50 g Protein a day, only can eat about 2 T of puree at a meal (am eating recommended foods) and am walking about 1 mile per day. Any thoughts you might have would be great, just wondering if anyone else stalled at this point?

You all are the best. I really appreciate all of the feedback and comments. I have increased my protein, increased the exercise I am getting, I'm getting in quite a bit of water every day so hopefully the next time I get on the scale i will have a pleasant surprise but I've also been ignoring my scale actually I think my husband hid the scale I can't find it lately

Stalled at 5 weeks?
japeters replied to Chioni.RNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thank you all for this info...before I saw this i posted that my scale has not budged...but the inches are visibly coming off, so i won't stress! -
My dr. advised that gravity is your best friend early on and the NUT advised that sitting upright at the table is the best for eating, maybe that will help. Or it could be acid build up, are you on any meds for acid/reflux? Just a few thoughts to consider, i hope you get to feeling better!

I recently moved into the pureed stage but when i was on soups for broth i enjoyed wonton soup and egg drop...only the broth none of the other stuff in it, and then when i moved on to cream soups I loved baked potato soup, again strained, but it has been and still is a favorite.

Liquid diet phase: Is honey in tea OK ?
japeters replied to brookriver2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should discuss with your NUT or Dr. my program does not promote use of honey due to it being high in sugar. -
Has anyone here had VSG surgery after they have previously had their gallbladders removed?
japeters replied to Fitgirl2be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine out 4 years ago and had my sleeve surgery 2 weeks ago. I had severe Gerd and found out during sleeve surgery that i had a hyatal hernia. My surgeon fixed my hernia and I've not had issues, I'm actually able to stop taking one of my reflux medications. I feel better than I have in a long time. -
Walking in the first week
japeters replied to goplay94123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon requires a 30 minute walk everyday starting at day 3 post op. I walk outside since the weather is so nice right now, but i'm low on energy due to being on all liquid diet so I just make sure I have someone walk with me. -
New Sleever Questions

Powerade Zero is a big help for me, flavor wise and for the electrolytes to avoid dehydration. -
6 days post op...... diarrhea
japeters replied to thomas1984's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They way things were explained to me is liquid in = liquid out, so until you move into more solid food you will most likely have very runny stool. Be careful and always call your dr. or nurse if you aren't sure about things. -
5 days post op complete 180
japeters replied to roxy.m22216's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, you really need to call your doctor! I just had my sleeve on friday and they told me if i had issues to contact them or go to the hospital where i had the surgery since the hospital near me is not equiped to address bariatric patients. you might just have the flue but treatment could be different for sleeve patient, please call and don't wait! -

February 2016 sleevers?
japeters replied to NYGirlxo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got my date scheduled, it's Feb. 26th...i think it's the perfect way to end one month and start another! -
This is interesting, I don't have to do two weeks of liquid i have to do two weeks of no carbs. I wonder why there are differences.
-
I think it depends on what our company has contracted with UHC. One person below states you no longer need the 6months of medical supervised weightloss program, but I just passed in all my paperwork for preapproval with UHC two weeks ago and I had to provide the following: 6 months documented medical weight loss program 2 years weight record showing obesity Pullmonary Function Test EKG Psych Eval Eval from nutritionist Letter of approval and recommendation from PCP Surgeon selected must be with COE unless the closest one is over 150 miles away there are alot of hoops to jump thru with UHC before you can submit for approval. Good luck.

OKCPirate, you posted that there are clear Protein drinks, can you give a few examples/product name. I'm still in the prep stage and don't have a date yet but I'd like to start researching some of these. thank you!
