Metformin for PCOS after surgery?
bigtula replied to casper_808's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried taking it a few days after surgery when I took my blood sugar and it was 174. It was the worst day since having the surgery. It upset my stomach and bowels. I haven't had it since and I'm 20 days out. I just check my blood sugar each morning and it has been average and my diet of low carbs and sugar keeps it in check. I will talk with my PCP about it after my next follow up with the surgeon. -

1 cup Almond milk, 1 scoop chocolate Protein powder, tablespoon of protein rich Peanut Butter, half a frozen banana, and some ice cubes. Tastes like a Reese's Cup and 30+ grams of protein depending on type of powder and peanut butter. 1 cup almond milk, half a cup greek yogurt, mandarin orange, vanilla protein powder, table spoon sugar free whip cream and ice. Tastes like a creamsicle and again 30+ grams of protein possible. These shakes have more calories than the recommended but will get you going and over the "yuck" feeling. Just eat light between and it will balance out. Of course someone will say talk to the nutritionist and that's fine just an option. -
Have a bathroom question

I had the same experience. I even asked my doctor about it at my first follow up appointment. It is normal. The first few days you have to be careful. Sometimes you think it's just gas so you gamble and lose lol. Started to firm up on Stage 2 but still going a day or two before the next bowel movement. When I do go it seems to be a trilogy or mini series so I suggest getting soft tissue and flushable wipes. -

I have found that a lot of the "bariatric" products are overpriced and come in small amounts like a month at a time. I just get the feeling they are trying to cash out on us. Centrum has an orange flavor chewable that has daily amount of Iron needed which can save you from having to take iron individually. There are roughly 90 for $10 and since I'm taking them 2 times a day that's enough for 45 days of course. Not a bad deal. -
I wasted my money on the Isopure Zero. It was so awful. It left my mouth so dry. I think it took the moisture out of my bones and soul. It took me days to feel hydrated again.

I've tried several things since I was sleeved 12/30/15 and I've hated most lol. I do like adding my protein powder to Greek yogurt and sugar free pudding.
