myrizzy replied to ZillyNa's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a girls weekend and sipped on a daiquiri, doc approved of course. It lasted all day because I took my sweet time. No problems here. Other that that I'm on my grind working to get down but I plan on having a nice drink in moderation ever now and then. Btw... lost two pounds that weekend!!! -
Puréed stage...what's the priority?

Protein and water for sure. Puree is mainly the healing stage. -

The weight gain is from all the fluids the pump you with to keep you hydrated while in hospital. No worries, it will all drop off pretty fast. Your healing.

I feel your pain! I started feeling better by the 4th or 5th day. Still tender but it was more bearable. Hang in there. Each day gets better. You just had major surgery so it will take some time to heal. The first week is defiantly all about healing.

Is returning to work after 5 days reasonable?
myrizzy replied to ld33's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went back the following week and glad I did. Got tired at times but pressed through. Worked out great for me. Just take it easy -
Thanks for the heads up AmyMarie! That's helps. My dietician said our bodies are still healing right now and we are just focusing on staying hydrated. She continued with the weight will pick up the next stage when we've healed more.

Who else got sleeved on the 28th of march?
myrizzy replied to elaina831's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved on 28th too. I have been frustrated with my 10 day stall as well. Dietician said it's because my body is healing right now and the weight will come off. Just think months from now. Trying to stay positive! Inches have came off. Some clothes fit better. Persevere.... -

I was sleeved on 28th too! Doc started me on puree yesterday for 3 weeks. It's been easier than I thought other then trying to make sure I have enough protein in my new pureed foods. My stitches are healing and the glue is coming off. It's getting so much easier to drink larger sips and I so glad. It does take me 20 min to eat my 4oz. What a nice change. Good luck everyone -

It will take the body a little to bounce back after a major surgery for sure. Moving builds up stamina and staying hydrated is a must. One day at a time will get us there! -
I was on full liquids for 7 days. Just stared pureed today!
-
I wish I would've asked the same question. Started puree today. Came home and family had potatoes with their dinner so I pureed that with protein powder and Greek yogurt to add more protein. Thinned it out and it was great!! However, no going to be eating to many potatoes in the future!

March 28th Sleevers, here we go!
myrizzy replied to thundermama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today went to week post op check in. I'm down 16 pounds. Yay!! I feel bloated and doc said that is due to not enough protein. I have also been moved to puree- stage 2! How is everyone? Thanks!! -
I took one week. Went back to work the following week. I have a desk job and work with supportive people who know my situation and allowed me to ease back in. I'm so glad I went back to work. Life feels normal and I needed it to feel normal after a huge change.

Today is my first day back at work. Almost has anxiety attack this morning thinking about it. Once I was here, everything g has been great! A nice distraction and life feels normal again. Doing great on protein and liquid today. Doc said two weeks. One for healing and one for learning how to get fluid in. Glad I decided to come back early.
