Why is it so hard to find a dress?

I meant to add but forgot that Torrid can be kind of hit and miss with the styles of what they have...Every once in a while they have something that is really really cute and simple and not quite so trendy

Why is it so hard to find a dress?

If you are not opposed to ordering off the internet it might be worth checking out Torrid.com - Plus sizes in exciting, cutting-edge apparel and accessories for young women sizes 12-26 to see if they have anything that might work for you..I know old navy online has plus sizes but most of the dresses I have seen on there are sleeveless so those might not work..What about looking at C J Banks if there is one by you?? They might have somthing as well...Just a few suggestions

    Any good cottage cheese flavorings?

I was watching good eats while I was trying to make myself tired and he was doing a show about pomegranetes (sp?) and he showed the little beads from the inside mixed in with cottage cheese...But from my understanding its a little bit of work to get to the beads in the pomegranetes.. Just a thought

All you people do is complain...

Where I am originally from there is an Ethanol Plant and the only time you could really smell it was if it rained or was extremely hot outside and then it made everything smell like a brewery....

    Any Northern Ky. Banders.....

I am from Northern Kentucky but haven't been banded yet. I am currently in the process of completing a 6 month supervised diet that is required by my insurance company, I also will be going thru Dr. Sonnanstine when I do have the surgery.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

I had jumped on here and was reading some of the posts since I hadn't been on in a few days due to issues with my internet, and came across this and almost didn't read it but curiousity got the better of me and now I am sitting here laughing hysterically after reading some of the posts on there...I know that its not really nice to laugh but I just can't help it..I couldnt imagine having gas so bad that you can clear a room all the time...The office I work in is extremely small and that would be awful to deal with on an almost daily basis. When I was researching the lap bad before my consultation I got a lot of links to OH and got so frustrated with trying to find anything on there and then found a link to here and have never looked back. I work in a jail setting so I see the absolute ridiculous on a regular basis but some of the posts on OH take the cake. But I am glad I found LBT and joined here.
  7. I went to my doctor today for my second appointment for my 6 month doctor supervised diet and according to the scale I lost 16 pounds in a month. When I started with all the doctors appointments I weighed 368 pounds and now according to the scale I weigh 327. When I mentioned to my doctor that I had a scale at home that the max weight was 330 and I get an error message on that when I get on it at home, she said that the scale might be 5-7 pounds off which would put me at 332-334 approximately. Which I still have a hard time believing especially since my clothes don't fit any differently at this point. I had talked to my mom earlier and told her what happened at the doctor and she was like thats good that you are losing and I told her its not the losing that is the major issue its the keeping it off..Sorry this is just my vent for the day...
  8. I too have to do a 6 month doctor supervised diet for my insurance and I just had my second appointment..You are right about the 6 months flying by I can't believe I am getting ready to go to my third appointment. Just hang in there and it will be here before you know it

    Six month diet plan

I too have Humana and have to do the 6 month doctor supervised diet, which I elected to do with my PCP, and she is just basically having me follow an diabetic exchange type diet. I also have to have a consulation monthly with a nurse from active health as part of my insurance requirements to get approval for the lap band surgery because active health is the one that handles the approvals for wls for them from what I was told. I am not 100 % certain though

    Greetings from Kentuckiana

I am also in KY and I work for the state and have Humana Insurance and from what my doctor told me Humana does cover it but at the very least there is a 6 month Dr. supervised diet that you have to do. I know that with the state there are a few other requirements that I am not totally clear on yet but I have started the 6 month diet with my PCP. I am from over by Cincinnati, OH area.

How did you choose your doctor?

My cardiologist is the one that recommended Dr. Sonnanstine to me for lap band surgery, I had my first consult on Jan 24th and was impressed with how thorough they were even with just the consultation, while I was there I actually met with Dr. Sonnanstine in his office and was very impressed with him, he was very up front and very informative and very friendly as well.
  12. For me the journey to having lap band surgery started back in December when I went to see my new cardiologist because I was having heart problems again and while I was talking to him he asked if anyone had ever recommended weight loss surgery because I have a problem keeping weight off. I replied no and he referred me to a weight loss surgeon here in Northern Kentucky that he works with from time to time. Fast forward to Jan. My appointment with the weight loss surgeon was scheduled for Jan 24 and prior to that I had already been back to the cardiologist office and found out that I have to have surgery again to correct the issue with my heart. I met with Dr. Sonnanstine on the 24th where they took my blood pressure, my blood sugar, weighed me and things like that. At that point from the time I had started seeing the cardiologist to my first appoint with Dr. Sonnanstine I had managed to lose 6 pounds even with the holidays in the midst of all this. After talking to the girl that does the insurance there and contacting humana myself to see what all needed to be done, humana said I needed to complete 6 months of a doctor supervised diet, they handle their weight loss surgeries thru a company called active health who pretty much managed to confuse me more than anything so I called Dr. Sonnanstines office back and talked to them again to get clarification. Also in the midst of all this going on I got extremely sick and am just now recovering from that. I had an appointment this morning with my regular doctor to start the 6 months of supervised diet and when she weighed me, according to her scale I weighed a lot less than what I did at Dr. Sonnanstines office on the 24th...I didnt think it was possible to lose that much weight in such a short period of time even being sick like i was. When I was weighed at the cardiologist's starting out I weighed 368, when I went to see Dr. Sonnanstine I weighed 362, and when I saw my regular doctor today she said I weighed 343...Is this possible???

    Just starting out

Humana is aware of the heart issues, but it doesnt make a difference, I get such a headache when I have to call them to try and figure things out because half the time they don't know whats going on. The lady I talked to about what the requirements were to have it covered by insurance was probably the most unhelpful and confusing person I have talked to there yet. What I think made it worse is that I could bareley understand her on the phone.

    Just starting out

After the doctors appointment this morning, I kinda figured one of the scales was off, both the Cardiologist and Dr. Sonnanstine use a digital scale, while my regular Doctor has one of those scales where you move the thing along the bar. Right now I am just trying to find out what my surgery date is for the heart surgery up at the Cleveland clinic, that in itself is a headache (I have been waiting on paperwork for 5 weeks). So right now I am just trying to take care of that and keep going with the Doctor supervised diet and work on getting everything together and ready to go.

    Salsa dancing??? LOL

I also discovered Zumba, and ended up ordered the DVD's last year and love exercising to them, and can't wait until I can get back to it. I haven't gotten brave enough to go to a gym and actually take a class, but its on my list to try once I don't have 2 left feet...Once I have my heart surgery in a couple months I will be back to Zumba like I was, until then I limit myself to once a week of doing it and walking the rest of the time.

    Bummed out by new development

I was born with a condition called Wolfe Parkinsons White Syndrome (sp?) and had an ablation procedure done back in 1999 to help correct the problems I was having related to the WPW, everything was fine up until December of last year when I started having episodes again and had to go back to the Doctor who had me on an event monitor to catch the episodes and go from there and come to find out that I have to have another ablation done. When they did my first one they went in thru the femoral artery with a catheter up to the heart and sealed a couple of bypasses that were causing issues. I was only in the hospital overnight that time and was back to normal a couple days after that. My surgery this time is going to be done at the Cleveland Clinic sometime in April. My cardiologist is actually the one who referred me to a weight loss surgeon to look into lap band and I have just started that journey but before anything else is the surgery to go in and correct whatever is wrong again this time.
