  1. My doc wants higher bmi folks (which includes me and anyone over bmi of 60) to have the filter fitted AND have two weeks of the injections. I'm not swayed by the medical literature on the filters as I don't have any clot, dvt history nor has my family. I think I'm going to see if a compromise can be found before I refuse the filter. I don't want to have a pulmonary embolism or a stroke, and given I have nothing wrong with me apart from being very fat- I can't see the medical necessity of the procedure for me. That's not to say it's not worthwhile and doesn't prevent the two things I don't want...I just can't see the value in my case. So I'm really keen to hear other views and learn more- who knows I might even change my mind. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. Hi peeps, I've just moved to the area and would like to find a new Primary Care Physician who is WLS friendly. If you have any recommendations I would honestly appreciate it. I know some folk have seen Dr Leff here, so I posted in this forum hoping you might be able to point me towards some good local drs. Apologies in advance if this is not the right sort of post here. Who has Cigna ?

Hi Adrianna, Thanks for the tips about the >89 days requirement. Where or on what page on the policy document did you get the info on the appointments being no less than 25 days apart? Mine only says the appointments have to be at least monthly so I'm starting to think I missed something. Miffy

    Who has Cigna ?

Hi, I have Cigna too. I'm right at the start of the process with the three month weight watchers under a registered dietitian. I'd love to know how you are getting on. It seems Cigna is the least frequently used insurance here- I might be wrong tho! Miffy
