    Throwing up after eating.

I am a year out and still throw up when I eat too much or too fast. I've found certain foods trigger it more than others ...anything heavy or starchy... potatoes..bread... Or milk based like the creamy soup you had triggered mine as well. At 26 days out your stomach isn't healed all the way...it's still new and still sensitive. Just take your time introducing foods and eventually things will get better ❤
  2. I'm almost one year out and my reflux is terrible. Some nights it wakes me up....my surgeon would not put me on reflux medicine.. he gave me two options..eat smaller amounts and eat earlier.. or gastric bypass. I'm taking tums though to help on days that are worst than others.. funny thing is...I never experienced reflux before the surgery even though I had a hiatel hernia.. I guess it's something I will deal with..if it ever goes away...I'd be a happy girl!
  3. Stage 1 and stage 2 baby foods should be good too! Stay safe and take care of yourself most importantly make sure you get your fluids in.

    Someone help me.

I wasn't allowed anything other than liquids until about my third week out..and when I started those it was terrible I can only imagine doing those at just a week out. Either way it gets better...just hang in there and get your fluids and protein in as much as possible! ❤

    3 weeks post op cheat

Well unless you went wild and at the whole bag I think you're ok. I had to have hard candy around post op because I would get sick at my stomach and having peppermint helped that sometimes. Just forget about yesterday and start today don't dwell on it. Congrats on your weightless so far and wishing you much more success in the future
  6. My surgeon and surgical weight loss center were both okay with Flintstones as long as they matched up the recommended daily amounts we need. They should give you a paper showing the amounts needed daily.

    What to tell people?

Be honest about it. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Most people get a trainer or some help losing weight...The sleeve or bypass is no different. We don't magically loose the weight...We still have to work just as hard to hit our goals. If someone looks down on you for having the surgery...Let them look down on you. Most if the people that have given me attitude about it are overweight themselves and more or less scared of the surgery and maybe a little jealous that I took the leap to do it. Congrats to all on this board on your hard work and big loses!!

    Holy Hair Loss Batman!!

Make sure you are getting enough protein and water/fluid intake. Not getting enough of either one of these can contribute to hair loss. I'm not saying the shampoos aren't a good thing but make sure you're getting your nutrients as well.
  9. I had this issue about 3 months post op.. Whenever I would move a certain way or stretch it would hurt and be very uncomfortable. I went to my family doctor over it and she said it was more than likely a pulled muscle..Gave me some cream to put on it because we can't take Ibuprofen for inflammation and some muscle relaxers....I used both a couple of times and it seemed to have helped with it. Hopefully this is all that is wrong with. Always a good thing to see a doctor though. good luck. Hope you feel better.

    Sleeved in July 2016

I was sleeved in October 2016. I've not had any major stalls...But know that time is coming soon. Change up your things you're eating...Be careful with portions and add maybe 15 minutes a day to your exercise.....Walk..Drink more liquids and make sure you're protein levels are being reached. Just like we did when we first had the surgery :). Mine has slowed down...But not completely stopped....Not looking forward to that day.. :/ sending you lots of wishes for continued success!!

    Ground beef

I have...Ground beef is about the only protein I can tolerate and I'm almost 6 months post
  12. I had both as well. Never had an issue with reflux before surgery..didnt even know I had a hiatal hernia until I had my endoscopy before surgery..But since surgery I have woken up several nights with bad reflux....My doctor won't put me on an acid reducer....He said to eat earlier and monitor the last meal closely...And not eat as much. He said the only thing he would do if it didn't work was to do a bypass over my sleeved stomach....I don't like that sound so I'm just doing what he says. I'm assuming I'm having so much issue now because my stomach space is smaller so the acid it's still producing is too much....Hoping it changes as the time goes on.

    Teeth Changing color

To be honest I've noticed the same....Thought it was just the new whitening toothpaste I had bought and was working..Loll. I'm almost 6 months post op...And have noticed it for a few weeks..Loll maybe it's like @Berry78 said...We are taking in less staining foods. :). Good luck on your journey ❤
  14. Walk walk walk....That's the only thing that helped to move that has out of my shoulders and neck.

    Failure

hang in there sweetie! the first few weeks even months were hard on me. I had the hardest time getting liquids and my Protein in.... Vitamins, I learned to buy the chewable ones... became a godsend. and for sickness at stomach... a peppermint hard candy helped tremendously. I'm four months out and I'm still try to learn what my sleeve can and will allow me to tolerate... but the protein and liquid gets easier. It will be worth it! Listen to your NUT and your Surgeon, if they recommend something, please try to do as they say. Good luck on your journey
  16. I was told when I first saw the surgeon that I would need one because of my excess weight and risk of blood clots due to my sedentary lifestyle. Also if you have a history or an immediate family history your doctor may request that you have one. At the end of my trial period though...I had lost over 100 lbs and my BMI and activity level was better so my doctor decided I didn't need one. I think blood thinners would be very unsafe before surgery..But I'm not a doctor. I do know that after surgery they came in and gave me a heparin shot ..If anything you're unsure of...Ask your surgeon why he chose the IvC. I'm sure he has a good reason. good luck on your journey

    Tenderness in ribs

i had the same issue at about 8 weeks post op. it wasn't a constant pain, but would come and go, some days not having it at all. I asked my doctor and she was sure it was a pulled or strained muscle. Check with your doctor to make sure though! Good luck on this journey.
  18. so very sorry to hear about your mom. Prayers going up. Don't beat yourself up over the food issue and stress yourself out more. It's good you recogonize that you're struggling. I agree... find a counselor or talk to someone at your weight loss center you attended before surgery..a nutritionist or the counselor there, let them know what's going on Take care of yourself sweetie.

    Back Pain

When was your procedure? If it was recent, it sounds like gas pains. I had terrible ones in the middle of my shoulder for almost a week after surgery. The only relief was to get up and walk walk walk. If it's been a while since your surgery, then you may need to contact your surgeon just to make sure it's nothing serious.
  21. Hi everyone. I'm almost 2 months post op. A few weeks ago i felt like i pulled a muscle on my right side and had some pain. It's since then increased. It starts in the middle of my stomach, right above my ribcage and goes all the way around to the middle of my back. My whole right side feels like there is restriction when I go to move bend a certain way. It's also bad at night when I try to turn over in bed. I don't feel sick or have any symptoms of a fever or anything like that...just a lot of soreness. has anyone else experienced this. It's been going on for a couple of weeks. I would assume if it was a gas pocket, it would have worked it's way out by now? Any info would be great. I've made an appointment to see my family doctor, but can't see her until the 5th of January. And I really don't feel that it's warrant for an Emergency room visit. Thanks!!
  22. You should be able to go ahead and take some. I could take it as early as day 1. Just can't take a laxative because it can cause bad cramps. The stool softner should be fine though.
  23. I had pain as well...like I had done a million sit ups....mine was more soreness in my abdomen I guess. Glad to hear everything checked out ok!

    3 days out

I'm assuming you're talking about the gas pain? Mine lasted up into my shoulders for about a week. Walking helps move it and I used a heating pad around my shoulder. Just make sure to get your liquids at this time and rest....walk when you can. Hoping you feel better soon.
  25. Everyone looses different. I will take inches lost and loose clothing..you're still on the losing side. Make sure you're getting enough protein and getting your fluids in. Your body needs nutrients so you can lose weight. I'll be a month post op tuesday. Good luck to you on this journey!!
