My wife said I drove her nuts before leaving the hospital. Does that count too?

I KNOW I can eat more than I should
RJC5197 replied to tiffanymarie6997's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too am one that do not have limits like I see others do. I have never felt full to the point of getting that sick feeling, and can eat any foods with no problems. Recently while on vacation I ate a whole 3 egg and sausage omlette without the real "full" feeling. I just pre-measure all my foods and meals to insure I do not over eat and do feel satisfied. Wow I just got the bill from hospital and Dr. for RNY. Total was over $52,000.00 Even with insurance this is a huge pocket shock. Is this in line with what others are seeing?

I agree it is frustrating but even a stall is so much better than gaining, which I would do before WLzs as soon as I even thought of cheating. I just completed another stall and cringed getting on the scale another week anticipating no change. What a great uplift when it showed 3 LBS DOWN. Well life goes on. Starting to worry
RJC5197 replied to Autumn Riley Arnold's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had same issue and grateful for it. I just means we are not as sensitive, and need to measure and eat the right amounts to satisfy, and not eat to the full feeling. Eating to the full feeling can be very painful and not good for the pouch long term if done too often. I had a revision and to this day have never felt "Full" and can eat anything, unlike many others. The WLS is a tool only and we cannot depend on the pouch to control us, just use it the best we can. Good luck in your journey of seeing what works best for you. -
Vitamin Patches from Bariatric Pal question
RJC5197 replied to ImBringingLisaBack RNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just started patches this week. I put mine on in morning and look forward to getting solid blood test in a couple months. Sure is nice not taking all the pills they required. -
I have eaten a lot of exotic foods over the years, but till this day I can not handle Brussels Sprouts. I can still taste those little rotten cabbages from when I was young child.

Vitamins/Supplements and Flexible Spending Accounts
RJC5197 replied to HiHoSleever's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
My FSA does not require scripts for reimbursement. I can use the FSA card, or submit for payment. I just need to document the spend. Also, I had Dr. write scripts in past for some items, and found the co-pay was higher than the total cost of over the counter product. -

Your exercise routine
RJC5197 replied to Autumn Riley Arnold's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is my fall and winter schedule (due to more darkness and colder weather) 2 days spin class (1 hr) 2 days weight lifting & Cardio (1 hr) 2 days Elliptical (1 hr) Come late Spring I shift to more outside cycling in early AM and evenings, and only a couple days in the gym for weight training. Everyone has different goals and likes. I am not sure any or all helps the skin be tighter, but the strength and health is the greatest improvement. -
I just hope there is only 1 Monday this week. I swear I had 6 of them last week...

Which blender should I get?
RJC5197 replied to AuntJoJo64's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use a Blender Bottle for my post morning workouts, it is quick and I make shakes up the night before. But I also have a regular blender for more complex mixes of veggies and cooking. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Beating yourself up nutritionally speaking
RJC5197 replied to LisaMergs's topic in Food and Nutrition
Not too bad for a quick fix. At least the carbs were low, but protein was too. I get grumpy when I hit that stage and struggle to find somewhere to eat something halfway nutritional. -
Help! Gastric Bypass after stomach stapling
RJC5197 replied to candy32980's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had vertical band and stomach stapling 20+ years ago. Not till this year did I find a bariatric surgeon that did revisions, and knew how to convert mine to RNY. Every person is different based on past surgery, adhesions and history. Finding the right Dr. is important. 5 years ago I went to U of M hospital with recommendations that they knew what to do for my problems with VBG, but even they only guessed at what may be done. I did not want to be a guess & try subject, so put up with issues till this year. Glad I waited, because all went very well and I have not felt this good in years. -
Looks like it will be a nice facility. The closest I have to a "good" gym here is a Planet Fitness, that is less than half the size of others in the country, and with 3000+ members, you can never get to use aerobic machines or the weight area unless you go and wait for hours in line. So I use the really small workout room at the local hospital that is close to work. But it gets the job done, just limited and boring in the winters. Tell the owners of your new gym that there is a market in Jackson Meeeeechigan they need build here too.

I agree with Quest. Just finding the flavors I liked took some testing. Also GNC has sales a couple times a year that brings cost down a little. I do not eat them regularly, but as take along when traveling, or bike riding just in case I need to,
