I was 119.5 kg / 263 lbs and pre-diabetic! I couldn't lose weight no matter what I tried, and my knees were injured so exercise was out of the question. I had been overweight since I was a teenager and slowly got bigger and bigger every year. 
I had my sleeve surgery done in Tijuana, Mexico with Dr Ramos Kelly. Nice guy, not the best bedside manner but he's a good surgeon and I researched a lot before I went. He had a very good reputation. The experience is not for the faint of heart. You really are just a number in these clinics but I got out in one piece.. also had my gall bladder removed as I already had gallstones and I know extreme weight loss causes more so I wasn't looking to have surgery again a few months later. Rip it out, Doc! 
I am now just shy of 2 years post op. I lost 48 kg / 105 lbs within 10 months, and over the last yearhave gained back about 7 kg / 14.5 lbs, which I am maintaining but would like to get back to 75kg/155 lbs. 
About 20 months post surgery, I developed Reactive Hypoglycemia, which is a common side effect of bariatric surgery, occurring in around 30% of patients. It sucks! But I am trying to deal with it. The psychological side has been much harder to deal with than the physical. It's a long battle.
