I am a mom of five kids and grandma to two :) I am 40 yrs old got my sleeve 4 days after my 40th birthday. I have never been thin, But was not obese. Had my thyroid removed in 2010, And was under medicated for a yr gained 100 pounds. Switched doctors, reported the doctor who had me so sick. I could barely walk. I then quit smoking gained an additional 50 pounds. Beginning of last yr I decided to start going to the gym. I want to live and see the rest of my grand kids born and growing before I poof out. So I went to the gym 4 days a week, 1200 cals... and lost 39 pounds.it took me 9 months to lose that 39 pounds I was discouraged. I talked to my thyroid doc. He told me I have insulin resistance and while I can lose weight, It was going to be very hard for me to do so. He sent me to see my surgeon Dr Beck In West Jordan Utah. I adore her. She is a great Surgeon Scars are minimal... Everything went well. I feel great doing great am happy as of today 1/12/16 I have lost 65 total pounds including the 28 pounds I lost the month before surgery on the liquid diet. I cannot wait to take my sons hiking for the first time :) as of 10/9/2016 I have lost 193 pounds. I was expected to lose or projected to lose about 80pounds I have far surpassed anyone's expectations including my own. I was asked the other day by another doc if I would do it again knowing what I know now... I said yes. Because I would. I was going to die of something  far to young.. and now I have a chance to take over the reigns in my life... Food no longer controls my life. Although I am a lot more aware of what I put in my body... and I am much more about it tasting good and being healthy. The extra skin is not beautiful... But worth it. Hard yes. This is far from an easy fix. But it works!
