Pain and Pain medications
ANewMe16 replied to Barry W's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely no comparison. on a scale from 1 to 10 where 10 is the pain of childbirth, sleeve is like a negative seven. Awesome! I had two natural births where I literally laughed the babies out. My husband was joking with me and as I laughed the baby came out. Lol. That makes me feel better. -

I go to my psych eval this afternoon.
ANewMe16 replied to NitzayJose Ulloa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, she asked me to tell her about myself. She wanted to know what methods I had tried to lose weight before and what I eat throughout the course of a normal day. Asked what my plans were for making sure I was successful after surgery. Asked if I had a support system. Asked what things might trip me up after surgery. Then I had to take a 300 +/- question true or false personality test. 300 questions! OMG -
UPDATE: I met with Dr. Nicholson here in Dallas and decided to go an alt route. Surgery will only cost me $3,900. Cheaper than Mexico so looks like that is the way to go. No psych eval and all of that. I'm hoping to have it done in April. YAY
-
I have a consult with a doctor nearby, if they want me to pay the balance off before surgery, then I might as well go the simplest route and travel to Mexico.
-
I want to use one of the BaratricPal doctors. I think I'm going to end up going the Mexico route.
-
Doctors are not refusing to see me if I remain in the US. I am having problems finding someone to see me if I go to Mexico (like originally planned).
-
Yes, I asked her at my visit 2 weeks ago. She doesn't support.

Are you in North Dallas, Texas? If so, who is your PCP? I can't find one who will support my choice to go to Mexico. My insurance broker is able to provide me with additional insurance because I meed the qualifications to add after enrollment. I can purchase and maintain 2 policies. Open enrollment on the healthcare exchange is closed. Also since you have insurance through your employer I am not sure you can buy a plan, if you can you won't get a supplement. All the premiums you would pay will end up being the same cost as paying for surgery out of pocket. I'm basically unsure what I want to do because: 1. I want to ensure I have proper follow up care, 2. I want to be able to call upon a local doctor in case of emergency, and 3. Cost. (cost being the last of my concern) I'm wondering if anyone has gone to Mexico but wishes they stayed in the US or vice versa.
-
yes but i figure i wont have a problem finding a doctor here in the Dallas to help me after. I've called around and no one will be willing to help me once I return from Mexico.
-
I just found out that my employer has excluded the surgery overall. That is why it was denied. Do you know what type of UHC policy you have? I am considering purchasing a separate policy specifically to cover the costs so that I can have it here in the states.

I look small for my weight...
ANewMe16 replied to Kgmz0219's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Exact same boat. 5'5 and 230. I've only told a few people because I get the same reactions if I mention wanting to lose 80#. I used to be anorexic weighing 100 at my smallest. Finally got my weight under control making it to 145 pounds. Once I got pregnant I started discovering foods that I had avoided for 10 years and put on 100 pounds (not knowing how hard it would be to lose). At this point, screw anyone who has anything negative to say about me and how I look. This is all about YOU. -
February 2016 sleevers?

Please show me where I was nasty and rude. I simply related a story about how I am raising my children. In fact, show where anyone was nasty and rude OTHER than the people who are pointing out the "nasty and rude" in others. That's usually how it goes here. The ones screaming the loudest about others are usually the ONLY ones pointing fingers and calling names. It's amusing at best. If you weren't rude why are you commenting? My response was toward one person and we have addressed the issue. Now if there is something you want to say to me specifically, feel free. Strangers on the internet can't hurt my feelings. Uhm...because I can? Well in that case go ahead and take it all personally even though it didn't apply to you. I'm done with this thread and this community. I can't be apart of something negative like this.
-
I'm glad I don't need counseling as she so nicely told someone else. My point to all of this is, what value is added to your life by being rude and nasty to people? Does it make you feel like a queen? I don't understand the point in posting anything nasty to a question because you didn't like it. Why not keep scrolling
