  1. 21 hrs for me. So grateful.
  2. If you leave AMA isn't that technically not being discharged? Why'd you walk out? Hope you're ok
  3. I just wish this post would die so that pic would stop popping up on my feed lol
  4. 2 months out and I came home from vacation 4 lbs heavier. Probably water retention because I've been home a week and lost the 4lbs plus 4 more. Don't get rattled. Keep on going and you will lose it.

    Protein bars?

I eat them but find two things that are bad (for me). 1) I'm lazy and will eat them instead of preparing food if I have them around 2) they don't keep me full like dense protein will So I will buy one if I'm out shopping and hungry but try not to buy boxes anymore.
  6. For me it was the sleeve but honestly both were very tolerable. I also had a partial thyroidectomy and that was a breeze. Worst surgery was a 6 lb dermoid cyst. 50 stitches right down the center of my stomach. No laparoscopic surgery then. Ow. Ow. Ow. If your teeth aren't impacted you'll be ok!
  7. Pats fan! I'll be crying as soon as Brady and Belichick retire I'm sure!
  8. Stop! Unbelievable! Did you tell her you'd be careful not to swallow any watermelon seeds? [emoji23]
  9. Nope. I've read that you can have chronic diarrhea after but I didn't. My dad has his removed at 79 and was bebopping around town in less than a week.
  10. I bought a blender and it's collecting dust. Unjury protein shakes up so well by hand. I mix with water for less carbs. Little Rubbermaid mixer mates were invaluable! I don't drink shakes anymore but now I use them to mix up my goats medicine. Lol I truly needed so little. Protein powder, bottled water, crystal light. I over bought so much.
  11. I had to find new ways to comfort myself. I'll have a coffee or take a shower and work through it. The worst was the anniversary of my father's death. I was so sad and couldn't eat. It really hit me how much I used food to cope. If you can't work through it you might want to seek out a therapist to help you. No shame in it.

    Joining the crowd!

I do indeed! Welcome aboard. It's a journey for sure.
  13. I had it removed a year and a half before surgery. It was definitely worth it as I had had several major attacks. Worst pain and nothing but time relieves it. For me, it hurt more than my sleeve surgery but Ive heard many say the opposite. I actually think I had a lousy surgeon. He forgot to close one of wounds as well. Hello? Anyway, yeah, do it! You'll live in fear of another attack otherwise and it can cause pancreatitis if left untreated.

    9 days post op rash

I had that too! Idk what it was. I used Body Shop nut butter and did a lot of scratching (gently). Drove me crazy though. No explanation was given to me.

    Foods you no longer enjoy

Oh ok, yeah you're early out. I hope you can enjoy food again. It's so vital to get as much nutrition through food (in time). I couldn't do regular foods till 2 months. I'd stick to softer foods if they easier to eat. There are some good recipes on Pinterest. I suppose when you don't want to eat that's not appealing though. Fingers crossed it gets better for you.

    weight loss goal before surgery?

I had the sleeve and didn't meet it. Idk if they felt sorry for me because I lost my dad or if my thyroid issues played a role. BUT, I did lose 15lbs on the 2 week preop diet but I was supposed to have lost 10lbs by my last appt before surgery and did not.

How long ago was your surgery?

    Honey roasted nuts?

Blue Diamond has a nice line of flavored almonds. I like the sriracha and smokehouse flavors. I always measure them out because I can mindlessly eat them. Lower carbs than honey roasted (which I love but don't eat now)
  19. Did you start introducing simple carbs? I know that triggers my cravings
  20. Does slow loss equate to less loose skin or is this a myth?

    What a surprise!

You'd think they would have told you this. Sheesh. I actually got a clot (months before surgery) and had to do this for two weeks. It isn't too bad except toward the end of the shots. You run out of places to give the shot that isn't already sore. My insurance covered my injections and I'm currently on xarelto to prevent further clots. They're no joke. Still, not a fun surprise for you.

    Bypass Eve

Congrats! It's such a relief when the surgery is behind you!

    Coffee?

I never knew cold brew and iced coffee were different! I just thought it was the new cool way to say iced coffee. Interesting!

    Coffee?

I started at 3 weeks post op. Did decaf before then. NUT said wait six months, surgeon said try it if I want to. I did and it made me so happy. It didn't bother my stomach at all. I'm two months post op now and still drinking it happily.
