We are worth it. I too am tired of similar things. Sitting in a booth and hoping I'm not jammed in. Carefully choosing clothes to hide myself. Never wearing shorts. Being petrified of heart disease. It really goes on and on. We gotta do it. I'm definitely less scared and more excited now. Talk to me the night before surgery tho [emoji50] Let me know when your wife has it if you would. I'll be thinking of you. The clot in my leg resolved pretty fast. Usually if the pain is gone or at least better that's a sign it's dissolving on its own. Are you still on the blood thinners?

Not yet. I have my final appointment March 23 and then I think they need final approval from insurance. I'm guessing another month and a half. So nervous and excited! How is the clot? Has it resolved? Is the pain better?

I keep reading about head hunger but I don't know how you know the difference. Others have posted that drinking water helps. I have no experience because I'm pre op still. I worry about the same thing. I don't know how you could go back though because your stomach can't hold much food.

My program requires two months nic free. I am being tested at the end of the month and quit cold turkey on Thursday morning. I wish I had quit sooner as the fear of quitting was so much worse than the actual quitting! Please let me know if you tested clean. I'm nervous too. I couldn't be happier about quitting! I think it'd be less common to not be anxious. We are undergoing a big surgery that will change our lives. I don't even have my date yet and I'm anxious! I was approved within a month. My insurance has a one year waiting period where you have to have monthly phone meetings with a health coach. So that sucked. The actual bariatric program with the hospital had the usual tests both physical and mental. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I started batting around the idea of surgery two years ago. I was supposed to attend a meeting and a big snow storm cancelled it. Then life fell apart. My wife broke her foot, my dad got really ill and died this past June. I wasn't emotionally ready to do this. I am ready now. I've done all the testing and just have to pass the cotinine test March 23. From there I will be ready to have surgery. It probably won't take place till May due to scheduling and waiting on insurance. Now it's all I can think about. Reading so much. Eating low carb and working on quitting smoking. I feel like this is my chance at the life I've always wanted. The weird thing is is that I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life so I'm scared of complications and somehow ruining my happiness. Yet, if I don't have this surgery my years of happiness could be cut short. So I'm just hoping for the best. I can't wait to be on the other side of surgery! Thanks for reading my babbling! I will buy my transition clothes there for sure. I figured leggings would be good because of their stretch. When I hold mine up they look like they'd fit a size 2 but somehow they fit a 22!
