Very emotional after the sleeve procedure
Joann454 replied to carlychloe2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Anyone know if this is the same for post menopausal women? -
It's so exciting hearing from all of you early May sleevers. I hope you all continue to feel better! Congratulations

Is this the best forum for me?

Curious. What's a blind pouch? I don't see why you couldn't post here or anywhere you want. -

Fantastic! I wish you well! New life and better health! We can (and will) do this! -
Lol! Please remind me of this if I get all crazy. I can see it happening. Stuff it back in. You're doing great!
-
Great! I love the idea of patches. I think if there was some hard science studies that would make my NUT very happy. She's skeptical.
-
My gallbladder surgery hurt quite a bit so I'm mentally preparing for it to hurt. I already told my doc I have a low pain tolerance or a high pain med tolerance. Idk which but don't be stingy with the meds! Lol

My NUT said there is not enough evidence the patches work. I'm wearing mine now (pre op) and hope my blood work comes back ok

You should definitely test clean (blood) in ten days. Stay quit!! Don't sneak. Don't be around it. I am fat, slow metabolism (thyroid issues) and over fifty. Sorry I had thought your test was the 18th but that's your surgery. Still you should be good. If it'll make you feel better drink cranberry juice and exercise but there's not a lot more you can do except abstain. -
I have bounced back and forth about surgery for a long time. I made up my mind a couple of months ago that I was letting fear rule me and from that point on I decided to go forward. I'm still nervous but I won't let it change my mind. My surgery is 5/22 when is yours?

I hope you feel better soon. I'm sure the first couple days are hard. I know I felt awful for a few days after my gallbladder removal. Keep us posted. We are thinking of you early May sleevers. [emoji173]

Canadian going to Mexico
Joann454 replied to Rosemarie4's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would have done the exact same thing. I'm sorry you had to face that. I gained some weight in the quit process and they were kinder about it. Good luck in Mexico. Stay quit! [emoji4] -

Don't make yourself crazy reading on the internet. Just stay quit and you will pass on the 18th. I was a 30 year pack a day smoker and passed a blood test in 5 (closer to 4) days of zero nic. Stay quit because you never know if you'll have what you need to quit again. We have come too far to blow this surgery over smoking. -
Check your specific insurance plan to see what the exact requirements are. They worst thing would be missing a piece of the puzzle and not finding out until you were close to surgery. I had bcbs anthem and I had a year wait. They gave me a booklet with what to expect and what the process would be like. Hopefully they will do the same for you. Best wishes!

That's how my current scale is. I can move it all over my bathroom and get a different weight. I'm getting this one. Thanks!

Ok. I watched it. The only thing that made sense to me was not eating enough calories in the early stages to sustain a workout without feeling crappy. Other than that I felt like he was a bit nutty. Idk. I don't want to be a jiggle fest. I'm going to listen to my surgeon and see what he advises about exercise.

I can see myself getting hung up on the numbers. I will weigh myself anyway but I will also take my measurements as well and try not to become obsessed as to it becoming counter productive. I don't wanna be the person freaking out over the three week stall or three month stall. This is about health for me and not just vanity. I'll need to remind myself of that no doubt.

GALL BLADDER ATTACK 30 Days Post Op
Joann454 replied to pastbandedsleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had mine out last year. If I hadn't I would've insisted they removed it during surgery. Have read of so many people needing it out soon after wls. Both of my friends needed it out under emergency situations. They're fine now but what an unnecessary second operation. -
I start my liquid diet May 8. Lemme know if it gets any better.
-
That's how I want mine to go. In boom test for leaks peace out go home on full liquids. Can't imagine clear liquids for so long. No protein. No energy.
-
I have to do two weeks of protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and a lean cuisine type meal for dinner. Day before surgery is clear liquids.
