Did I type blot clot? Ugh. You know what I mean. Also, I blew off my leg pain thinking it was just cramping etc. it was a clot.

I'd go to rule out a blot clot.

They'll take all precautions to prevent any from forming. I was nervous about it too. I switched from Coumadin to xarelto. Love not testing every week!

When did your energy return? I nap daily at ten days out. I want this energy!

I'm on xarelto for dvt. I had to stop taking it 48 hrs before surgery. They gave me a shot of lovenox in my stomach at the hospital. I waited one day after discharge and resumed xarelto. No issues at all so far.

I grew up on the ocean and with jaws. I'm never the farthest one out. They get eaten. It used to be a joke but the cape is loaded with great whites now. I'll be very careful (for lots of reasons). Definitely a cooler. What food though? I was only thinking liquids. I think I'll be on soft foods at that point. Mushies at the beach? Meh

I get sharp pains once in a while on my left side. It never lasts but when they hit it's shocking. Right after surgery, if I bent over I'd get a searing pain in my left side as well. That's gone now. Any pain that doesn't last for me I will chalk up to healing. It's when it persists that I'll call. So far so good. Is your pain persistent?

I suppose you could continue to pressure your surgeon. In the meantime you could check into other, possibly faster, avenues. If it were me I would buckle down hard on my diet and at the minimum not gain. Do they weigh you at your job? That's stressful.

I'm guessing you spoke to your surgeon and let him know your job is in jeopardy and that waiting could mean losing your job? Or that you've spoken to your boss and let him know surgery is in the works but they're making you wait? I'd way rather have insurance pay and by the time you get a surgeon and withdraw money it could be you're only waiting a month. What about trying your very best to do the liver shrink so you don't put on anymore weight? I know it sucks and is hard but it seems like the best option financially and to save your job.

Yeah, I'll really need to be careful. I don't want any embarrassing situations occurring. This will all be very new. My family lives on the Cape so I'll enjoy time with them. I wonder if I should bring protein powder.

I just turned 53 and had the sleeve 9 days ago. I feel great! The first couple days were tough but since then each day has gotten better. I can sleep on my sides now (on my back for a couple days, then left side and finally right too). I am definitely tired and weak but have no pain and haven't since day three. Just sore. I thought the same thing but honestly it wasn't bad at all. I hope the same for you.

You can call your insurance and ask or go online to the chat option if they offer it. I couldn't wait for the "official" word. Mine was approved in one day. BCBS COVA (it's the insurance for state employees in VA)

I'm skipping all alcohol. I just won't be far enough out. Kinda bummed ( I only drink on vacation) but it'll be ok. Thanks!
