    Regret,

    Oh how I love this!

    Today is surgery day

Good luck! I had mine 15 days ago. Let us know how you're doing.

    Someone help me.

What are you eating? When you say a fork full? I wasn't allowed any food just shakes and water.

    Sick and Tired

My step grandmother would either call me fat or sick. I never looked good. Fortunately for me I didn't care. I'm sorry it spun you into depression. Do you have a therapist you could talk this over with? For what it's worth I think you look amazing!

    Bypass Vs. Sleeve?

I chose the sleeve because I've never had GERD, I am only pre diabetic, and it had the same long term success rate. I was sleeved 15 days ago and have no regrets. The pain for me was minimal. I'm healing well and can get everything in easily (liquids). It's not always a breeze. Sometimes I'm hungry and mad I can't eat. Sometimes I don't care one bit about eating. It's a journey and not an event. I was so focused on surgery, I thought that after surgery was going to be a breeze. It's work. Both surgeries. They also both work well if you use them properly. I'm still learning and have much more to experience. I wish you luck with choosing your surgery!
  6. Yes! I have to not have water near me because I forget.
  7. Me too. It hit me today and I felt like crying. I just can't with them anymore!
  8. I had surgery the 5/22 and am still on full liquids. I have shakes (so tired of them), fat free no lumps yogurt (Dannon makes an 80 calorie one that's decent), sf popsicles, and tomato soup. Good luck!

    Pissy

Thanks. That's what I wanna do too.

What foods did you move on to? Clear liquids? Yikes. I was cleared for full liquids after two days. I don't blame you.

    Pissy

It does. I've had tomato and it was delish. Today it gagged me. I had butternut squash but the sugars were high so I didn't have any more. I have some cream of wheat I might try. It's not on my list but I see people making it watered down. Yay! Now I'm happy!
  12. I love Bears! My brother hits up bear week in Ptown every year. [emoji173]

I know. I hate being whiny. I'm having a low day. I feel hungry and protein shakes are grossing me out. I just have to suck it up but I'm still going to ask (beg) to move forward. Three weeks of full liquids is rough!

    Doubtful

Many of us went through this. I had fully decided I could do it on my own. I gained weight during that time. If I could've I would've by now. I needed help.

    Timeline confusion

Now you know what you're dealing with. So you'll have to ride her ass to get things done in a timely fashion. Stay on top of it. They're supposed to guide you and work for you. I truly hate incompetence.

    Timeline confusion

I had a coordinator who was on top of everything. She would call or email promptly and her nurse was amazing as well. They would try and squeeze all my appointments into one day because I live far away. I'm sorry you feel like this. They have left you hanging and that's the last thing you need going into such a big change. Demand better.
  17. My surgeon said 4 days max for no BM. The reality is it's not uncommon to go a bit longer than that. It'll make you feel better to go. Definitely keep trying to get those liquids in. What are the waves of pain you're having? Stomach pain? Incisional pain?

    How much can you eat?

Thanks for that detailed run down on your food intake. I'm screen shotting it!
  19. I'm only down six lbs in my first two weeks post surgery. But 21 since preop diet.
  20. But what's that going to do to your metabolism in the long run? I definitely want to be taking in more calories than that at six months.
  21. Tomorrow will be my first weigh at my two week post op. I just tried on a blouse I love and it was big. No matter what the scale says I know things are changing. I've had such peace of mind not weighing and obsessing over the numbers. I'm just doing what they told me.

    So THAT is dumping? -_-

Halo Top sf ice cream for when you want it again. Sea salt caramel is fantastic. I can't have it around because it goes down a little too easy. Maybe later down the road, maybe not. Hope you're feeling better and stay away from that sugar!
  23. This is my fear as well. I also think I might find a bit more energy. I see my team this coming up Wednesday so I'm definitely asking about this.
  24. I use unjury chocolate protein shakes. They're the only brand I can tolerate. How many calories are you taking in right now? I'm still only getting around 550 and at 13 days out, I'm still weak but getting stronger. It definitely gets better. Remember all the past diets you've been on. How many were successful long term? (That'd be none if you qualified for WLS) It's fairly common to experience regret right after. I'm guessing you're bummed because you feel bad about missing the tournament too? Have faith it will get better and definitely work hard to get down your fluids so you don't dehydrate. Headaches are a symptom of dehydration. (Hopefully you weaned off caffeine before surgery). I hope you feel better soon.
