  1. Monday was my two week. As of today I've lost 7 lbs post op and 22 since pre op diet. I have zero pain and moved on to purée. Tolerating foods, water, protein, and vitamins well. I feel very fortunate.

    Just about a year out

I love these stories and pics! You look great!
  3. I should add, I did throw up my first night home. It was quick and didn't hurt as much as I thought. I've had zero nausea since then.
  4. They gave me something when I woke up and it worked immediately.
  5. I know. I asked for them to condense my appointments into one day. So, often I'd see the NUT, psych and NP within a couple hour time frame. Sucked sitting around but it was better than driving up again. Maybe you could ask if they're all located nearby?

    For the 45+ crowd

You lost a decade off your face between the two! Good for you!

    When did it get better?

I got out of the hospital less than 24 hrs after surgery and was more than ready. My first night home was rough but then it got easier every day. Buyers remorse is common. It's mostly up to you. You might have to do some mental work trying to remember why you did this and know that it's temporary. Once you feel better it's a lot easier to have that attitude. I'm 2 1/2 weeks out and have no regrets.
  8. I had so many setbacks and hoops it took two years to get through everything. I was frustrated but just did what they wanted so I could get the surgery. They're an 1 1/2 from me and it was definitely inconvenient. You can always cancel if that's what you want. I will say that I'm glad I got through it and am going on three weeks out and 22 lbs down.
  9. I got cleared for purée! Finally!

    Pissy

I'm so sick of shakes and yogurt. Two weeks out and I have my follow up in two days. I'm asking (begging) to be released to puréed foods. People's lives depend on it!

    Leaving dieting behind

I think we all "wish" we could do this. If some can then great for them. I read it and immediately thought this isn't me or for me. I wish. Again, perhaps down the road but I'm 53 and haven't ever managed this way of eating. I don't want to fight the rest of my life but I'm accepting I will most likely have to. Each day since surgery I've had to figure out what does and doesn't work. I WANT Halo Top ice cream but I saw what it meant for ME, but what about someone who doesn't or can't see it? So, I completely agree with you. This isn't the appropriate audience.

    Vaping??

I had a blood test and was completely negative after 4 1/2 days of zero nicotine.

    Leaving dieting behind

My intuitive appetite wanted bacon cheeseburgers and fries. I don't trust it. Maybe some day. Doubtful.
  15. Do you like butternut squash soup? Tomato? Can you add milk?

Did your surgeon say you can eat soft food this soon? Follow your plan!

    Today is surgery day

I felt a bit nauseous but they took care of it right away. My pain was tolerable and I was able to go home the next morning. First night home was rough. Threw up once. Pain was a bit worse. Then each day got better. Nothing I couldn't handle and I had no gas pains from the CO2. Can't wait to hear how you did!

I can't eat anything sweetened with manitol or any sweeteners ending in "ol". They go right through me. Check your ingredients. The diarrhea will wipe you out and can dehydrate you. Try water with electrolytes.
  19. I love salad veggies. Fruit depends. If I can find sweet fruit I'm happy. Often oranges are dry and bitter and apples are mealy. I love watermelon. Farmers markets are open so hopefully I can find some fresh stuff when I can eat again.

    Panniculectomy?

Glad it went well. Been thinking of you! Fastest 15lb loss ever! Heal up!
  21. How're you doing on your diet? Have you decided to stick to this way of eating and not have surgery? I wish I liked more veggies, maybe I will once I can actually eat. I'm excited to try new healthy foods.

    What are you guys eating???

I do the same thing with my chickens and goats! I love hanging a cabbage up and letting them peck at it for a few days.

    Slow Weight Loss

I lost 6 lbs two weeks after surgery but I had lost 15 lbs the two weeks before surgery. I was dumbfounded that it was "only 6 lbs" after two weeks of 500 calories a day. Then I thought I could already be in my 3 week stall. I hate the scale and refuse to let it dictate my emotions for the day (at least I'm going to try very hard!) In two weeks I'll measure myself and see what's happened there. If nothing else I've lost weight in my boobs. ☹️
  24. Joann454

    Someone help me.

Can you just do the shakes for a few days? Get all your protein and water in and worry about the food when you've healed a bit more.

    Drinking with meals

Ya know, I just thought it was because it would hurt. I had no idea why we weren't supposed to. I have to move my water because I really struggle with this. Thanks!
