Great news! I felt the same way. I was so prepared for the worst it was a pleasant surprise. Heal up! -
Insurance Weight-loss Worries
Joann454 replied to LINZ62383's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry about your brother My dad died during mine and I also gained weight. They let it slide because it wasn't too much. -
I think most people just talk in the main forums (gay or straight). There are some gay guys who have already had surgery who are active though. Welcome!

Hate tracking food - now stalled
Joann454 replied to shannybananny71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you think it'd be a slippery slope for you if you deviated your foods? Not the schedule, just the foods? If so, why? Sorry if I'm being intrusive I'm trying to figure out what would work best for me through others. -
Hate tracking food - now stalled

@blizair09 do you ever get bored with the food? If I eat the same thing over and over it actually can turn my stomach ( like eggs or tuna salad ). I would love to be able to do what you do. It's so simple. I just know I couldn't do it long term. -
Vacation (Spain & Italy) 4 weeks after Surgery
Joann454 replied to krs1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just over four weeks out and still haven't found my energy. I'm trying to figure out foods and take all my vitamins and get all my water in. I'm feeling no pain but it's still a lot. The fatigue is real for me. Enjoy your vacation. -
I'd be grateful you're not one of those people. If the doc says it's ok I don't see the issue.

Finally listened to everyone and..

My wife has lost one lb less than me with no surgery. When I did my preop diet she did it with me and has stayed doing keto since my surgery. I try not to be jealous or competitive with her because she's definitely more active and ten years younger. But damn, I had surgery! In all honesty I'm so grateful she's been eating well. It's helped me so much and I'm very happy for her. I know I couldn't have lost this much weight without surgery. Back on topic. I'm weighing myself once a week mostly. Sometimes if I happen to be naked I might hop on. I don't log it though. I had a brutal stall but seem to be creeping down again. I'll play it by ear from here on out. -
Well since I only eat Whole foods that I prepare I can not use salt on that day. It'd be nice to have something like this on days I don't want to actually cook. Thanks for posting the label!

How much is a serving size? My Kroger has them as well.

Severe abdominal pain when inhaling and rapid heart rate
Joann454 replied to Goggyween's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It does seem odd that they don't know for sure. I assume they want to see if it shrinks on its own? But still. Answers would be comforting. How does the feeding tube work? Is it inserted into your pouch through your stomach? At least your pain is gone. Thinking of you! -
Did insurance cover complications from a surgery performed in Mexico?
Joann454 replied to FamilyGuyNJ's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Does the tourism insurance only cover while you're in Mexico or also when you get home though? -

That's my drink when I drink, which is rarely. How far out are you from surgery? -
That is not real love. I'm so sorry.

Ok that's great! Now you'll have to let us know how you do. Congrats on your weight loss too!

Severe abdominal pain when inhaling and rapid heart rate
Joann454 replied to Goggyween's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This happened to my friend after an appendectomy. She started running a fever and had back pain. It was also warm to the touch. They basically said she had a "blood ball". They inserted a wire into it and drained it. She did have to stay in the hospital one night. Hopefully it can be resolved without that. -
I'm just four weeks out and I can drink water easily. It's not forever for some of us. It was a huge concern for me. I used to be able to drink a half of a bottle at once and while I can't do that I can take three huge swallows with no pain as long as my stomach is empty. Can't wait to hear your journey!

Let us know what he said. Definitely try at home first (assuming he gives the green light). That would be tragic to get sick on your big day!

I'm a month post op today and following this way of eating as well and I love it. I'm rarely hungry and when I am I thoroughly enjoy my food. I've lost the desire for carbs and am starting to get some energy back. Hoping once I'm fully healed I will get all my energy back. My wife has been eating this way for a month and a half and has lost 20lbs (no WLS). It works for me.

So glad you joined. I've read all your mom's posts and I can see she's worried and loves you. Some people have no one to support them, so I'm thrilled for you that you've got her at least. Good luck Wednesday. You've got a bunch of strangers rooting for you!

Struggling with Pureed Food Diet

Great ideas and your hubby is the best! -
Do you log your food with an app? It helps so much. I know how many calories and macros I'm eating and on days I feel lousy it's directly related to food or water. Try using one. Most are free.

Feel better because you just scared the crap out of me. I hope you're done going (from whatever end) now!

When, if ever, do you stop feeling like a fat person?
Joann454 replied to ryan_86's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've spent so much of my life hiding from video and cameras. I used to rip up photos and delete them off my phone. It's pretty sad really. Like I erased myself from memories. No more! -
It's a big change and during the adjustment period you may be sad at times. I had some moments myself and I am just a homebody. Keep reminding yourself that it's temporary and eventually you'll just be living life again (and enjoying it even more).
