Not a lot of Flavor in my foods
Joann454 replied to Caligirl T's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My tastes didn't change either. Kinda wish they had. Although it's quite easy to not over eat. -
You poor thing. Guess you don't have a choice but it seems cruel (but not dying is good too). Hope it goes up so you can take some meds.

Month long stall...then gain!
Joann454 replied to avatarkorraa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dang, it sounds like you're doing everything right. Have you had your thyroid levels checked? TSH? I'm pretty new so I don't have much advice. Sure looks like you're doing everything to the letter. -
^^^ ditto Have a ball!

I hope you can too. It's a whole new world. I looked at pictures (damn Facebook memories) and just cried. I miss them and that's ok. I didn't eat to feel better and for me that's a win. It's just amazing that I wasn't even aware I did that. At least you're aware. You'll be more prepared for the feelings.

I'm so sorry for you as well. I lost my mom six years ago and my dad last year. They were married for 57 years and were both amazing parents. Neither would want me to eat because I was sad about their anniversaries. Actually, neither would want me to be sad and I'll bet your parents would feel the same. Hugs.

This is a huge relief to read! I was just telling myself "you don't know what you don't know" and I sure didn't know! I can't tell you how much better I feel. Thank you [emoji4]

I laughed at myself too! Don't be sorry (I'm pretty relieved to know it's gauze)! -
Appeal it!

Thanks Sylvia. Social functions are less awkward at over a month out for me but you will do just fine. I just moved to the south a few years ago and the food is crazy good and crazy fattening! 29 lbs in a week?!!! Wow! That's what I've lost in 7 weeks!

Citric Question
Joann454 replied to Iwanttofitinmyweddingdress's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
As long as they're sugar free and don't have chunks in them. Although you might be ok to have chunks at four weeks. Idk what your plan is. I lived on all flavors of sf popsicles. -
Post-op 3 days vocal cord damage; Hernia Repair
Joann454 replied to Deborah1969's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My throat was quite sore and I sounded like mini mouse for a few days. -
Lots of brides lose weight before the wedding. Although 100 lbs is amazing! I'm sure you don't want to spend the wedding explaining yourself and talking about your diet. I'd tell them you'll tell them about your diet after the wedding and today you just want to celebrate and have fun! Accept all the compliments and enjoy the day!

It's better to try tiny amounts. You did the right thing. I still haven't had chili but I'm craving it now. Glad it went well!

Oh. Well I feel dumb now. [emoji16] -
Yes. Scrambled.

I wasn't excited once I had my date. I was petrified! I just wanted it (surgery) over. As far as your holiday. I don't know your general health and stamina. For me, five weeks would be ok food wise but not energy wise. I'm just not there. I have a vacation scheduled in less than two weeks and I'll be seven/eight weeks out and I'm already anticipating naps! My advice to you would be build your stamina back through walking a lot and start now if you're not already exercising. I am still amazed at how easily I tire.

The only way you'll know is to try it. If you heat it in a bowl in the microwave be sure to loosely cover it as it explodes and makes a mess. Let me know how you tolerated it. Fingers crossed for you!

I ate refried beans with a little sour cream. It was delicious!

Questions about bariatric surgery
Joann454 replied to skyewolfe's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
How low you go is really up to you. I never let myself dream of being 137 either. But I'm starting to. Why not? I'll decide as I lose more though. I want to be a normal BMI. -

Joann454 replied to azuresky's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you over fifty or so you have a family history of colon cancer? Idk why they'd want that done. -
I hope you feel better soon. It's no fun feeling that way.

Questions about bariatric surgery
Joann454 replied to skyewolfe's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I couldn't tell at all. I did think about it though because it's weird! I truly can't even tell I've had surgery at this point (besides getting full fast).
