    Depression

@@charley27 I am really struggling with this at times lately
  2. Someone in my bariatric center's group just posted this question: "I am 2 weeks post op and am craving a PBJ. How soon before I can have one?" Do some people seriously do no research before having this surgery?? lol...lol...lol...lol
  3. @@Amurillo04 And that's why weight loss surgery gets a bad rap with regards to weight gain. Some people just think it's the magic bullet, that they will no longer have to sacrifice some of their favorite foods or can continue to give into cravings.
  4. @@blueeyez If you had actually read the thread, I said to her exactly what you're suggesting. Didn't call her stupid. Thought the question was. That's a really high horse you're on. Have a great day

    The waiting game

Same here, no co-morbidities and started at just over 40 bmi, and was approved. Good luck!

    Fluids/purees stage!

I am day 9 and have been "eating" black bean or lentil soups that are pureed in the food processor. You can control the consistency of them with the food processor. So far, so good!

First night home and need help!

@@MarieLouise I had the exact same thing happen night 2 in the hospital...felt awful and it really put me in panic mode. It passed by the next day, thankfully. Even though acid was not a problem pre-surgery, I am on prilosec for (at least) 90 days.
  8. Wow that is FANTASTIC! Good job! That's a huge milestone!

    July 5th surgery not loosing

I was July 5th as well. I am using Milk of Magnesia instead of Miralax and it is much more effective. I have done good with the weight loss so far. I guess it will slow down eventually so I'll enjoy it while it lasts. I think we are all just different and will lose at different rates. We also get placed on different post op programs and I'm sure that factors in. I guess just make sure you get all your fluids and Proteins and the rest will fall into place eventually!
  10. The Syntrax nectar is pretty high in calories. 100 calories in an 8 oz glass, and 23g of Protein, and so yummy!
  11. @@wknapp2966 Oh me too! I'm just now at day 8 starting to want something different, especially after having to prepare meals for the family. I know it will happen, but it definitely is a challenge!
  12. @@blueeyez Wow, well ok. I guess I am a bully for finding the question ridiculous. I guess I was a bully when I laughed when my son asked if I got him a sea otter on a grocery shopping trip and also laughed when my mother in law asked if we'd be having kids soon a week into the marriage. Yep, that's me. Just a real meanie!

How many calories during purée stage

On my program, Stage 2 is 2 weeks, and you begin with 300 calories and end up eating about 400 by the time the two weeks is up. Stage 3 is 3 weeks, and you will begin the period eating 300-400 calories and end the three weeks at about 600-700.

    Post op weight loss

Day 6 and I've lost 8 since coming home from the hospital. So I had surgery 7/5 and was 249. I came home Thursday and was 252. I weighed Friday and was 250.2. I weighed Saturday and was 246, and I weighed this morning and was 242. And I bet if I can get this Milk of Magnesia to kick in I'll fall into the 230's. How's that for specific
  18. @@reachbree I hear ya girl. I thought I was very well prepared for everything, including the stall and the moods and the fatigue, but when you're in the midst of it, it definitely isn't a fun thing Hang in there. Just like with surgery, you will make it through to the other side. ♥♥♥
  19. There's a difference between the belief that a food is banned for a lifetime and asking for an okay to have it at 2 weeks post-surgery. I was very diplomatic in answering with alternatives that might help satisfy the craving. She is in our program, and in our program we are still on just liquids at 2 weeks. Our NUTS and bariatric nurse are very thorough in the materials they provide to help us be successful. In those materials, and at every appointment, they clearly outline allowed foods at each stage. And I took no offense to the peasant food comment at all. I love peasant food.
  20. I'm really not a mean person, and I really try hard not to judge, but dang! This wasn't a "will I ever be able to have it again" question. It was a "affirm my decision to go ahead and have it now" type of thing. If it was me, I would at least go for something a little more decadent lol

Fluids is NOT going down well.

@@LACRACRA2 7/5 for me and also had the hernia repair, and I have the same issue. It's hard to be patient when you're worried about becoming dehydrated! I am getting down about 40-45 ounces of Fluid of the 56 my program wants. Warm definitely does go down easier and less painfully for me.
  22. Of course my recommendation was to do a shake with PB2 and something fruit flavored to substitute for the jelly flavor, but no, they want a sammich and they want it now! lol
  23. @@Shaunie Hey, did you join the Facebook group for July Sleevers? https://www.facebook.com/groups/july2016sleevers/ Also, would love to talk to you more about your journey since we did this at the same time, please feel free to friend me so it's easier to follow each other's progress, I am at https://www.facebook.com/anniebanana. Would LOVE to have a circle of friends who are going through this for encouragement, etc
  24. @@Shaunie I'm still waiting too. I have a telephone follow up tomorrow and will ask about switching from the Miralax to Milk of Magnesia which I am SURE will do the trick! I think if anything, that is what giving me the most discomfort. Glad you are doing so well!!! I feel pretty lucky, I'm up and around more than I expected to be!
