At a month out of surgery I was still in the puréed food stage

2 days in and I'm in so much pain... I had to take anti nauseous medication... Deep breaths hurt

Not just the early days but it does get better... At least for me. I'm glad you're feeling better and I hope you continue to do so.

I can't wait to eat both lol to actually somewhat chew on something after so long is going to be awesome! My book says cream of wheat is okay too. I don't know if I'm actually going to try to purée any meals or not.

I feel regret today. I have six days before I can even eat puréed foods and I can't imagine what would even taste good puréed. It's so strange only being able to consume such a tiny amount. Today it's hard to imagine feeling "normal" again. Don't get me wrong... I still want better health and a longer life with my children more than anything but today I feel regret

I had a longer surgery because they discovered a hiatal hernia and had to fix that first. Surgery ended up being 3 hours long. I am a week post op today and I still have a bit of pain on my left side where the big incision is. I'm having trouble getting enough protein in because all of a sudden I can't stand the premier protein shakes. I'm going to have to try something else. Does anyone have suggestions on what they drank during the liquid diet stage to get the protein?

I broke down today about the permanence of it all. I have become sick of the protein shakes and I miss actually eating a meal with my family so much. I am better now but it was rough for a minute. I keep telling myself it was the right decision and it won't always be this way. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

It's hard not to question it when it's such a drastic change in our lives. I started to guzzle water today while watching tv and not thinking about it. I freaked out. Luckily I caught myself right away. I went to Costco today and the whole place smelled like blueberry muffins and I still have another week before I move to puréed foods. I am starting to notice little changes in my body so that's exciting. I looked at an ad today and actually allowed myself to browse through the clothes that aren't plus sized. There are sacrifices with this decision but I'm excited about the rewards we can do this. This site means so much to me. I feel like it's a place where I fit in when that hasn't always been the case in my life. Thank you so much to all of you and your stories ❤️

That all sounds great lol I have another week before I can try puréed food and when I first thought about it I was thinking... No thank you... But now that I'm getting really hungry it sounds awesome! By the time I get to puréed foods I'll have been on a mostly liquid diet for six weeks and I am so ready to eat again. My biggest hope is that my stomach will still enjoy Mexican food lol fingers crossed

I tried to go shopping at Costco today (on a Saturday what was I thinking) and was so drained after I slept for three hours... I think it is going to take longer than I thought to recover too... I'm starting to get hungry again and that's frustrating because my stomach is still raw and jello only does so much... I hope that you guys start feeling better soon

I feel a pain on my stomach when I first stand up that feels like gravity pulling on me and after a moment it goes away... Is anyone else experiencing this?

That sounds like something to look forward to lol I'm 42 so I've considered breast surgery anyway but the tummy tuck looks brutal. I need to just focus on one day at a time. Thanks for responding ????

I had my surgery last Monday and I admit the first two/three days sucked but I'm feeling tons better now and I'm excited to see what happens with my body and health. The anticipation leading up to the surgery was big and I was scared but now that there is no going back I intend to make the most of it and have fun. It is truly the first day of the rest of your life. I hope surgery goes well for you. Best of luck ????

Thank you so much it really helps to talk with people who understand what you're going through... After my rant about Olive Garden I was swearing I would never put myself through skin surgery (jumping the gun i know) but we'll see... Once the pain starts to go away you're more open to possibilities lol

I was regretting the surgery big time the first couple of days... I kept saying... We should have just gone to Olive Garden lol but things are better now... I have to be pretty slow and my mouth is always dry but now that there's no going back I'm excited to see what the future holds

I sure hope so... I felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack today

I am a week and a half from surgery and I'm so nervous. Are the complications that come with this worth it? It's permanent. There is no going back. I think I'm also afraid to be thinner and that's so messed up. Every time in the past when I started to really get the weight off I would sabotage myself and gain it all back plus some. I can't do that after this. I guess I just have the jitters. I can't seem to shut my brain off... Maybe it's the only liquids preop diet going to my head.

I have worked for months to get to this point... My surgery is in five days... This liquid preop diet is getting to me... I live with 4 other people and all their cooking is making me crazy... I was lighting candles in my room so I couldn't smell it... I haven't cheated and I won't... I just needed to vent

I'm right there with you... I'm obsessing about food... I knew I was addicted to food but damn! I haven't cheated either... You can do it
