I am three weeks out and still very fatigued. No complaints other than that. I plan to go back to swimming as soon as all of my new little friends heal. I also joined a gym simply for the treadmill. Can't wait to get back to weight training. I was a trainer over ten years ago so looking forward to being better than that now.

Freaked out - 5 days post op and not feeling restriction w/ yogurt?
Mzdiggs replied to cherryjello's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am almost 3 weeks postop and felt for the longest time that nothing happened even though I saw the x-ray of my tummy. Well this morning I had a scrambled egg nothing else and for the first time felt extremely full and uncomfortable, so yeah surgery is correct it takes time. I have mainly stay very close to a full liquid diet with soups versus adding anything. I will be able to do soft food on the 9th. Not big on puree so Tay away from them. -
I love my Vivofit as well because I swim

I had my sleeve on 1/12 and still out will take next week and go back. I had no complications just want to make sure I have everything understood before I head back into the lions den. -
My whole day was basically a party for my youngest daughter who worked as a surgical tech at the hospital for almost six years. Everyone kept popping in to say hi to her. She had even worked with my surgeon who loved her so it was all about seeing her again. This was cool because she was able to request my or team (nurse, anesthesiologist and surgical tech). The last thing I remember was talking to Rebecca who said "okay Ms. diggs I gonna give you the good stuff". First thing I remember is nausea which is very normal for me with any surgery even though I am treated for it pre op almost always throw up. So I was expecting it but this time it was like on steroids lol. Pain was very minimal. Kept peeing though, stayed on the bed pan Lol. I did have BP issues for a while but couldn't get it down.

I shared this conversation with my oldest daughter and loved here response: "I also believe that people who didn't need to have what I consider medically needed assistance to help them lose weight are arrogant. Weight loss is hard, life style changes are hard. Everyone has to get through their journey their own way. That's what makes it special"

Doing this thing all alone, any suggestions?
Mzdiggs replied to jjcason's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good to hear @renkoss. Our stories are very similar mine started with first pregnancy back in 1985 so thirty years in. My decision was made because every new med that I tried had its own set of side effects. I am so fortunate that to date I have had now signs of complications from my diabetes and decided that now was the time to keep that from happening. ????????your almost there! -
Figure out where you are and where you want to be with your decision. Your sister's response is not about you but about her and how she feels. She does not know enough about the process and she is responding from a "self righteous" place. She want to tell people so that she has the upper hand in discrediting you. The fact that you may end up smaller than could be a threat.

The thing I love about this forum is that I can search question and your right @@Proud2BMe its there.

I am also a type two diabetic. I had the GS because my insulin kept going up as well as my BG. I am two weeks postop and have stopped taking my basal all together. I am sliding scale over 160. Huge change. For me it was not about weight loss but a way to get this diabetes under better control the weight loss is a plus. Seems to be working ???? -
For tomorrow's sleevers rest well tonight
