Thank you neveragain! Are there any that don't add a taste or smell? I had the Unjury I heat up the milk and made hot chocolate (not over 130 temps though). Its ok, not great.

Do they make a no carb, no sugar and low calorie whey protien isolate? They all seem a bit high in calories, least the ones I looked at did I thought.
-
I eat one almost everyday for lunch. Never had any problems, however, I've not had a fill yet.
-
My biggest ( 1 1/2") is on the right side, 2" below my port.

I'm glad you asked this question, I also had one and was curious if any one else did too? I haven't had any heartburn either, its wonderful. I was taking antacids all the time.

How interesting. I'm 5'3 and at the time of surgery I weighed 208. The nurse told me I have the Large band. I must of had a huge stomach then? LOL Thats what I get for being a Diet Coke addict for so long. I wondered what the sizes actually met, thanks for explaining it.

I'm close to my "ideal" weight and I really worry that I won't be able to maintain. Afraid that the old bad habits may sneak in. Even though I'll be done lossing I still would like a fill to help with that. I have wondered too how I will maintain without gaining. I guess normal food but watch it really close? Not sure but good luck!

I'd like to find some good accurate scales. Does anyone know who makes and sells good scales? Mine go up and down even though, my eating pattern hasn't changed since surgery, grrrrrrrr...........I feel they are unrelaible. They make me feel awful! I get very obsessive with lbs and scales so I go by how much looser my clothers are and make myself wait till my next Dr appoinment to find out my weight loss.

Anyone just have 1 fill till you were done?
ebonie replied to ebonie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For me I was hoping it would help me to maintain. I would like a bit more restriction to help me with that. I do get full much easier, and my biggest restriction is dry meat or not chewing my food well enough so i sometimes PB. But I'm so afraid of going back to the old ways, figured I could use the extra help. -
Hi, I was wondering, when the Doc puts on the lap band, does he also add a bit of fluid or is it put on and left totally empty till the first fill? Thanks

Thats what has happend to me, I'm never hungry, if I am its when I'm bored. I went to every appointment so I could at least be weighed, they talk with me and since I always lost over 10 lbs every month, didn't think I needed a fill each time. Said I am doing really good and keep doing what I'm doing. Although they always ask what I'm eating, how I'm feeling, the usual questions. Yes keep going to your appoinments, it all helps. -

Thanks for all the info! I'm concerned about maintaining and thought maybe a fill will help me do that better when the time comes. -
Hi, I've never had a fill either. I'm almost done loosing. However, I think I want to try a fill the next time I go in. I don't have a lot of restriction but feel I could eat a bit less at meal time. I want all the help I can get when its time to maintain so figure thats my next move? Still debating, I'm a tad nervous also.

Hi, I'd like to know what kind of cheese you eat. I like it but, not a fan of the rubbery low fat (pre-sliced) I've tried. Thanks!
-
I take Citracal Petites. They are smaller and non-chewable. Easy for me to take.
-
Thanks guys, your so right, if you don't eat too much why eat the gross stuff? I haven't had a fill yet so I guess I'm paranoid, nothing really limits my intake other than dry meat or if I eat too much. I'm supposed to keep my meals to 1- 1 1/2 C.

I had mine for almost 2 weeks. It was horrible the first few days. I think its from the air they pump into your body to see? Good Luck.

Hi, my Docs have said aboslutely NO soda or carbonation!!! Thats what stretches out the pouch more than anything, according to them. I had D Coke surging through my viens instead of blood.........LOL But I managed to give it up. It was actually easier than I thought, for me it was a matter of making up my mind........do I miss it, not too much. I weaned myself off of it when I decided to do the surgery. When I was checking into lap banding the soda was at the top of the list for things I'd have to give up. Its worth it for me. I've been soda free since April, 07.

Hi, weird question, (the diet cocoa has only 25 cal so I have it once in a while). When I drink it, it makes my stomach bloated. Could it possibly be stretching my pouch? Thanks for any advice!
-
Really? I am strictly told, NO snacking between meals. I was banded 07/24/07. Did great, I've lost 71lbs so far, I have 15 left to go to where I want to be. I've never had a fill! Never hungry, however, I'm always drinking water which keeps me full.
-
Thank you everyone! Yes it is the swiss miss and I enjoy it in the afternoon when I crave a snack. Since my Doc say nothing but 3 small meals, it helps me get through the long afternoons.

Hello all, Just found this forum yesterday. I'm looking forward to reading, learning and joining in. I had my lap band done on 24th of July 2007, in Idaho. I'm never hungry and its wonderful and I've NEVER been filled.........yet! I have lost 61lbs and have 25lbs to go to get to my ideal weight. I am very nervous though about being able to maintain my weight, but I'll worry about that when I get there. :tt1:

Ok good thanks. By the way I mix it with hot water.....yum!

Newbie has question about carbs and sugar
ebonie replied to citygirl4616's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, I've been banded since 07/24/2007 and have lost 61lbs. I drink all the time but I always wait 1 hour after I eat before I start drinking again. I've never had a fill yet so I'm thinking maybe the water is helping me feel full?
