Had a very gratifying moment yesterday
Ruth1ess replied to Dub's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Tearing up. As much as I have been very quiet amongst those I love re; who I share my surgical plans with, I've been open with strangers and coworkers. One of my co-workers at work is going to look into it now too, just from our talks.... And I haven't even been sleeved yet. I imagine you gave him a lot of hope, which is indeed a very powerful thing. Great job. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App -

Looking for a surgery buddy from Florida the Lake City or Jacksonville area

Gained 4 lbs on the scale from being in Toronto this past weekend.. ugh. My boyfriend is such a bad food influence, but we had a bit of a mini food funeral which was both of our faults. We've been meaning to go to hot pot for awhile (all you can eat Soup goodness), and we ate his 'final' bowl of ramen before he starts his cleanse (back on paleo for him). At least most of it is probably sodium/water weight and will drop quickly, but still disappointing. No more food funerals for me. 6 more days til my final appointment... -

You guys are going to do great. I love that I had to read it twice to figure out it was him doing the surgery. You are working as a solid pair and that is very encouraging. Keep up the great attitude! Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App -

Good Culture organic cottage cheese

Has anyone seen this yet? My work cafeteria is always stocking weird, oddball products and I saw this today. Very impressive! 18-19g Protein, less carbs than some Greek yogurts, and comes in sweet and savory flavors. I'm going to try the blueberry tomorrow. http://www.goodculture.com Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App -
Surgery Scheduled for March - no Pre-op Diet?

Remember too your fat cells store estrogen, then dump it into your system when they're burned. Little things are going to seem like big things for awhile. I'd also take to the tape measure now while you're still early, so you can see the progress in inches when the scale stops being your friend! Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App -

you've got me too in Jax -
Haha.. Well, when you gain weight, your position choices become...'limited'. There are so many other wonderful things we could be doing, but haven't been able to, because of weight issues. I miss a lot of the things I used to be able to do, and I know he's wanted me to try this. @@BurNingBriDget I am definitely beyond blessed to have such amazing support by my man. I was so vehemently anti-surgery in the beginning because of the way it was proposed to me, and he supported me in my 'screw her, I can do this alone' stance. Then once I did my research and changed my mind, he switched gears with me fluidly. Such a great partner.

It's not bad, this will be my second surgery. Seriously, the worst part of anesthesia is the dry mouth when you wake up. Sometimes a little nausea, but they'll give you something for that and the pain. You'll also get something to relax you as soon as they start working you up, so no worries! The Start of my New Life in 2016
Ruth1ess replied to Ruth1ess's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@~~~liz~~~ @Bellalover Thanks for all the support! I'm breaking it down into pieces now to deal with the 3-4 weeks before I get a date... haha. One week til I go to Toronto.. one week past that I have my last appt.. one week from that I'll get my insurance approval and date. Not so bad to wait now -
Good morning! I've been doing some thinking, wanted to pick the brains of the veterans in here. I'm still pre-op with no date, probably about two months out. I've lost 10 lbs in the past month by working with my nutritionist. I could probably lose another 10-20 lbs before my surgery, which is awesome! But, wanted to ask, if in your experience, the pre-op weight loss is included in the ~60-70% of anticipated weight loss I can expect to lose with my sleeve? OR is it on top of that? As in, is it worth delaying surgery a little while so I can lose more weight, then my sleeve would bring me down even further than it would have before? I'm wondering if that anticipated 60-70% loss of excess weight is because that's how far my body will want to go, period (so weight lost beforehand factors in as well and I will lose less on my sleeve). Any insight you can give would be great HW: 296 CW: 285 HT: 5'7" BMI: 46
