My dietitian gave me this diet for breakfast i have a meal replacement drink and also for lunch with lunch i could have a half low calorie sandwich but i just stuck with the drink and then i have a smart meal for dinner it is a tough process and i can only have 60 grams of sugar a day. i stayed away from fruit because it is really not as good as they say i learned a palm size apple is 25 grams of sugar and i am not going to lie i have not exercised much i have degenerative arthritis in my lower back it is hard for me i can not stand long nor walk much distance.. it will be hard but do not lose hope you can do this!! -

I feel so lost and empty again, I started my first diet class just getting on to the road where i should be going , but i hit a wall went to the Dr and she found a lump in my breast . I am so scared its like a punch in the face . I had gave up on my self when my leg gave out and just couldn't work any more and gained soooo much weight it has been 8 years since i felt like a person who belonged some where. I had turned to food all my life i been heavy and food been there for me when i have no one to talk to no one who could relate, food has always been my best friend, Today I turned to my best friend food i went bought 2 liter of mt dew my favorite pop and went to burger king bought 2 chicken sandwiches and a med fry and that wasnt enough stopped at the gas station and seen all this candy in front of me bought 2 king size candy bars and went home and ate it all not at once but most of it in one shot but its all gone now. I feel so guilty and lost and hurt and scared that this is going to stop my process it is so hard for me right now im lost do not know what to do. P.s sorry if this in wrong area

I am a couple of months into the process. I went to an information session and met with the surgeon 11/2015. I found out that my insurance requires that I follow a Dr. approved diet plan for 6 consecutive months (I have to go 2x a month). The hospital where I am having the surgery is a Bariatric Center of Excellence and all of the surgeons, Dr.'s and nutritionists have offices right next to each other and all work together. Once a month I will meet with the Dr. who runs the program and then 2 weeks later I will have a class to attend where a nutritionist/dietitian talks to us about various different things. I have my 2 visits for December completed and I had my class yesterday and will meet with the Dr. on the 19th. I also had to meet with a psychologist and they want me to attend a support group at least once in my area. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly from here on out. -

Thanks i will pick up a notebook on my way tomorrow yes i am going to have the bypass, i know through family who has gone through it on how things kinda worked for them... the surgeon think it is best for the bypass for me i kind of asked him today on the sleeve but when i read up on the booklet they have gave me in mail before i went to first appointment looks to be the best one for me i think with my size and with having some known things about it from family .. but i will have lots of questions for them thanks for the advice i really do appreciate it -
