I was banded in July of 2005 by Dr. Richard Morand in Augusta. He is a wonderful doctor with a great bedside manner. He is very supportive. -
Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
Quilter Mom replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've just made the 100 pounds mark, do I qualify? Congratulations to all. Quilter Mom :-) -
Larry, I had the lapband surgery over a year ago and have lost 95 pounds. Best thing I ever did for myself. It will take a while for your body to bounce back but the time invested is well worth it.
-
Any of you Mainers who have been banded? How are things going? Who did your surgery?
-
I didn't realize changing to a Doctor in the same practice would be an issue. I hope you can work something out because I think the support I get from them is great. Quilter Mom

I started at a 26-28 and am now a 16 pant and a 12-14 top. Want to get to a 12 for both.

I hope I find my majic level soon, I am becoming extremely frustrated
-
Xann77, I've had my hard times as well, try to get more walking in if you can and plenty of Water, water, water. This helped me when I would plateau. Keep you chin up, you'll get there.

I am still frustrated with my lack of restriction. I'm at 8cc and have scheduled another fill but could not get another appointment for another 6 weeks. I am concerned my willpower won't hold out.
-
I just got my 4th fill. I'm up to 8cc. Feeling a little restriction. I think I'm feeling that full thing as well. Haven't gotten that much up until now.
-
You guys are great, too bad it's been 20 years since I've been so lucky. Glad for you though Quilter Mom
-
Kryssa, The only time I feel any restriction is when I eat something dry, like chicken or fish. Otherwise, it's small portions and no bread, Pasta or sweets. I will not go backwards. Quilter Mom
-
Banster Girl I have had 3 fills and I'm up to 7cc and I have no restriction. I'm also getting frustrated because I'm not loosing. I'm hoping it will happen soon. Everyone says to be patient. I'm trying.

Quilter Mom replied to TonyBia's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
T, I've heard about this happening before. Just make sure you get in all your Protein and Water. It's very important. Quilter Mom -

Pianoman, I had 4cc fill my first time and found it wasn't enough and I'm trying like crazy to get into the doctors for more. I've been told I have to wait 6 weeks so it's a struggle to keep the weight off and even to loose more. Good luck with your fill. Quilter Mom.

Mousecrazy, Wishing counts as far as I'm concerned. You should visit the state some day. Quilter Mom

Suzan, Wow, with your weight loss you must be at goal. I have about another 50 pounds to go. I do make the Augusta groups on Wednesday nights most of the time. They help. Quilter Mom
-
Kelly, Thanks for the welcome. Camden is beautiful. Quilter Mom

I left mine one for several day, changing them daily. As long as your stitches aren't oosing (sorry) I would leave them off after that so the air can help heal. What did you doctor say? Quilter Mom

Thanks for the information

Jonothan, My first fill was done in x-ray and the lydocane hurt more than the fill. Are they giving you lydocane? Quilter Mom
