A so called friend of mine told me that i was lazy for getting the surgery. :wink2: I took what she said and thought about it for a bit and felt bad but then i realized something. Lazy is sitting back and not doing anything. Lazy is watching the scale go up and not doing anything. Lazy is saying "i'll start my diet..next week." Lazy is NOT getting the lapband which most of us needed to push us in the right direction. WE have taken a major step towards a healthy life. WE have taken matters into our own hands and have gained a tool to success. WE are being productive and using medical science to enhance our lives. Sorry for the rant. just thought id share my feelings. Respond with what you think.

HIGH Protein LOW CARB pumpkin PIE shake 1 cup skim or light soy milk (very cold) 1 scoop vanilla Protein powder (20 grams per scoop) use whatever brand your surgeon said to get 1 packet splenda (to taste) 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie filling (cold) Blend ingredients until smooth, pour over ice or blend with ice Nutritional facts per smoothie: Protein 26.0 grams Carbohydrates 4.3 grams Fat 2.5 grams Sugar 1.5 grams Fiber 1.3 grams I've had this a bunch of times. it goes down easy. is so delicious :wink2:(a bit earlyfor fall flavors but hey whatever) and its a good way to get those nasty protein powders disguised ENJOY! -

When I was Banded on Monday the 24th i weighed 296 pounds. Today (sunday the 30th) I weigh 277. I know that the weight wont come off as fast once i start solids in a few weeks. but boy does it feel good to watch it melt off! Im on mushies and having no problem with it. (i found an awesome recipe for a pumpkin pie flavored protein shake!!) and i find that after just a few bites of anything im full already. it really is great! as far as pain goes...ive been better lol. gas was awful but is now mostly gone. The cuts are still majorly sore and one is badly bruise and i wish i could sleep on my side...but everyday it improves. all in all im am verry happy and know this is all worth it -

I was gonna post a thread like this! I am a musical theater major and was worried that the drastic change of body type would have an effect. as im sure you know -when singing properly u kinda move things around inside..so i asked my surgeon if i could somehow move the band while singing (explained to him fully what i meant) he said no. so hopefully everything goes good and stays ok. i get banded august 24th. the week before school starts....damn im screwed for 1st semester show auditions. oh well
