I was just wondering if anybody is having irregular menstruals? Ever since I got my lapband, some months I can have it for almost 10 to 15 days. I skipped last month, and now this month its so heavy... I'm afraid to even go out. I asked my doctor and he says, Its cus my body is losing weight/changing... also when you undergo surgery, your hormones are out of whack! I'm in my 30's but feel like I'm a teenager with heavily flows?? Can somebody relate to this?

So ever since I had my surgery, my hormones have been going crazy. I have abnormal menstruals. Some months, I can have my period twice or sometimes they will last up to 10 days. I spoke to my doctor and he says its okay... that I will regulate. But PMS-ing is not soo fun. Sometimes I'm so heavy that I feel like I was 16 years old all over again. And the cramps are horrible. Anybody get this way??

Protein supplements and Multi-vitamins

I went to Walgreens and got some Beneprotein powder. It doesn't have any flavor so you can add it to just whatever and that food doesn't lose its taste. If they don't have it there, you can order it on their website or have their pharmacy order it for you. I love it... -
Congrats!! I got banded on the 18th and its my 3rd day. I'm so excited for myself and you too of course. I finally had 3 oz of protein boost today... I'm excited. I feel so much better. Have you weighed yourself yet? I'm down 8lbs already...

Is Burping okay? I'm having some gas... and I always feel like I need to burp. Once in a while.. I do get a little burp out. Is that good or bad?

So after a year of trying to get my insurance to approve me and prepping for surgery... I finally did it on Friday. About 5:30 am in the morning I was sitting at the hospital and waiting the arrival of my doctor. By 7 am I was put to sleep.. and woken about 9 am. Saw my husband.. then moved to a room right away. I was told because I have sleep apnea, I would have to spend the night. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. In a range of 1 to 10 in pain, my pain was a 4 or 5 only. I didnt take much pain med or had much gas. I was released the next day after I took an upper GI test and found out everything was fine. Came home and was able to walk around. My liquid diet is also working well too. However, my 3rd day out and the gas is starting to act up. I'm taking chewable gas x... which is working great. Today I actually had 3 oz of Protein boost and I'm so excited. I even weighed myself and found I've lost 8 lbs already. I took my first shower today... and walking around. Even got on the computer and sat up watching TV for a bit. I'm so excite... Oh one last question... anybody having alot of phlegm??? I was on Oxygen and I think it caused my throat to get very dry. I'm blowing my nose and there's signs of blood and I want to cough up the phlegm every so often. Been spitting alot... Will that cause my band to slip? My hospital actually gave me this cough teddy bear... that I can hold up to my tummy when I cough to help the pain... that was nice. I feel like a little girl, carrying this teddy everywhere I go. Oh wells... =) I'll update more later...

I'll be having my procedure on the 18th. I'm feeling so nervous... and excited at the same time. I'm actually new on this board... even though I've been on here many times before reading everyones post. I finally decided to join. Thought I should get some support out of this and ideas... Also I guess I'll need you all because you actually will understand what I am going through... sounds nice. I can't wait... :clap2:

Hi all!! I'm new here... I'm from Chicago, IL. My doctor is Dr. Peter Rantis with the Surgical Care Group. I haven't had my procedure yet, but I will be this Friday the 18th. I'm totally excited, scared, nervous... anxious... But I feel I am completely ready for this. I've been in-training... and waiting for this moment for a full year now. I decided to join this forum because I felt I might need information and ideas... okay and anybody I can talk to who knows what I will be dealing with. Anyways, this forum is most helpful in many ways. I am looking forward to my lapband and meeting people on here.

My name is Paris. I've been married for 1 year and have been on this journey for the past year. Ever since I decided on the lapband procedure, I've been on this path to a new life. I must say at this point, I am excited and scared. My surgery date will be this Friday, Jan 18th 2008. I am looking forward to so much and have done all I can to prepare myself for this change. There's so much that I want out of this... and hoping it will be my strength and motivation. But I am truly blessed... I have a wonderful husband and family that is supporting me. They're my rock... and my shoulder to lean on. Although I feel nervous, I am hoping that time will fly by and by the time I'm able to look back, I will be a whole new person and experiencing my new life. Well thanks for stopping by and reading this entry... I'll update soon. Pgirl:smile:
