It's funny that you are mentioned this cause I am just experiencing this. I am almost 11 months post op and lost about 90lbs and let me tell you my girls are hanging. I was a perky DD prior to suregery but now they are looking very dense. I finally decided to go to a well known bra fitting lady and she put me in a triple F. With that being said she gave me a long speech about how I probably wasn't in the correct size before. Anyway needless to say I bought this very expensive bra and they look super high and lifted. However I will probably get a boob job after I have my babies cause I do not like they way they look without the bra, lol. Good luck! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using the BariatricPal App

Going back to work POST-Op.
PageRN replied to flexnix's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had taken 1wk off at first because I felt fine and I had a desk job but all of a sudden a few days later I felt soooo exhausted. So I took another week. I'm so glad I did. I needed that extra week to recover. My advice is do not rush back to work if at all possible. Give yourself time to recover. This is a major surgery. -
Chewable Vitamins Question
PageRN replied to lastmemory318's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was taking the Bariatric Advantage chewable tablets but after 2wks of me taking them it made me nauseous so now I'm taking the Bariatric Advantage capsules. They go down super easy. -
Yesterday I crossed my legs for the first time in years! It was so funny because all I remember was looking down at my legs and I thought to myself "you just crossed your legs", lol.

Post Op Treat
PageRN replied to IJustWant2BeALoser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
San Antonio is where I live! It is a nice place to visit. We also have Six flags and Seaworld which is really fun for the kids. Going downtown to the Riverwalk is a must see! You also mentioned the Dominican Republic, that is my husband and I favorite place to visit. We have been there twice so far in the last 2years. I know you will enjoy! Walk the beach for me too! ???????????? -
pre op diet and the effects it has on those around you
PageRN replied to rejeannern's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi @@rejeannern! I know exactly what you mean because it has happened to me. The minute my family and friends found out I was having wt loss surgery everyone started talking about how they needed to loose weight and start eating healthier. My husband has actually lost 10 lbs from the time I started my pre-op diet! It was so funny because when we would go out everyone would ask him " have you lost weight". Now by no means did he do the same diet I did but he definitely started making healthier choices. He also missed his eating buddy. We use to pig out all the time but now that I was on the diet, he said eating by himself was not the same. My sister also starting walking with me and I have given her a few tips that I have learned in my nutrition class. I also had a friend who had gastric sleeve about 2 yrs out and she had fallen off the band wagon. However after I shared with her my progress she has now got back on track with her exercise. So yes by you having this surgery, it will definitely have a positive impact on the people around you. -
I look small for my weight...
PageRN replied to Kgmz0219's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was the same way, I'm 5'5. My surgical wt was 235. 1 wk post op and I am now 220lbs. I didn't think I looked real heavy. As a matter of fact, i have always embraced my size and wore it very well. However I have had so many medical problems including cancer until I decided I must get my weight under control. I finally realized that it was not cute to be over weight and unhealthy. That's when I decided I have to make a change. People tell me all the time "you are going to be so skinny" or "you are going to be sexy". I remind them oh I am already sexy, I am getting the surgery to become healthy! #Boom #Biggirlsaresexytoo -
Hi Dud, I also want to have children. However my surgeon told me I have to wait atleast 18 months. Also like Bufflehead said if you are overweight you have a greater chance of complications than you would if you had a normal BMI. This was one of the reasons I decided to have this surgery. Also my doctor recommended using 2 forms of birth control because as Pretty Cali said you become very fertile after your surgery. Good Luck!

My hands are always cold since I was sleeved, any suggestions
PageRN replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's funny you mentioned this bc I was just sleeved on the 12th and I notice I am always grabbing for my throw blanket. I guess I better get use to it. -
I am scheduled for the gastric sleeve next Tues. Jan 12th. I am getting a little nervous. Today I went grocery shopping to get food for my pre-op diet and this was the first time that I really had to read the food labels and pay close attention to my calorie, carb and protein intake. This is definitely going to be life changing but I believe I am ready to make the change. I'm glad I found this forum to be able to express my feelings.

Yes, I weighed myself yesterday and I have lost 4.4 lbs since Tuesday. I am supposed to return to work on Tuesday but I am going to see how today goes. Have you lost wt?
-
Hi there, I too had the sleeve on 12th and everything went fine until about post-op day 3. My surgeon has me on the clear liquid diet until the 21st which is my 1 week fu appt. I felt so hungry and weak. Usually I walk atleast 1 mile around the house but I did not have the strength. Yesterday was a little better and I'm praying for a better day today. Pain or gas has not been an issue for me at all.

PageRN replied to PageRN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor will only allow me clear liquids until the 21st. I wish I could have a protein shake. Yes I have the Incentive Spirometer which has caused me to cough forcefully and that hurts. So far today I feel better. I'm hoping I can keep going. -

Last night was horrible. I coughed and thought I busted something on the inside. Also I felt like I was starving. I was so hungry! It was Post-op day 3 and I was following all of the doctor's orders. But I had real bad hunger pains. It was absolutely terrible. I also felt very weak. I'm praying that today will be better and I can keep my energy level up. -

@@cmael63 you can do it! I think the more research you have done the better outcome you will have. For example, when I was in the hospital they gave me a straw on my dinner tray. However I knew my surgeon told me not to drink from a straw therefore I didn't use it. The CNA also was trying to give me sugar Popsicles but I knew I was supposed to be on a sugar free, no carbonated liquid so I didn't eat the popsicle even though my mouth was dry. I think if we just follow the doctor's orders we will be fine. I'm wishing you the best on your surgery! -

Thanks Gracies, I believe you. I woke up this morning and my stomach felt like I had over worked my abdominal muscles. I had to take some pain medicine. -

Yes Daisy, it was green. Even my nose secretions was blue and it was all over my pillow. I asked the surgeon about this and he told me that he performed the leak test in the OR and he used blue dye. So blue + yellow = green, lol. It was kind of funny to see it but now all of the dye has passed. Thank God, lol. -

My surgery went well yesterday. I had no complication. My surgeon did the leak test while I was still in the OR so when I made it to my room. My urination was green. Kind of weird it started returning back to yellow in time. I got up and walked around a lap around the floor twice yesterday. I tolerated small sips of water, Propel, chicken broth very well. My pain was manage with liquid Lortab every 4hrs. The surgeon saw me this morning told me I was doing exceptionally well and I could go home. So he gave me a bolus to give me a head start on hydration and I made it back home today. I must say surgery wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. ????

Hi Saffron, tomorrow is my big day as well. I had to work today so I am getting ready to pack my bag for tomorrow. I am so excited all positive vibes here. I've studied the wt loss surgery book from the office, watched all the YouTube videos and debated to change my mind so I'm just ready to get this show on the road, lol.
