@@Daisee68 Thank you for the tip definitely appreciate it! Yes that's what I am taking, maybe it's because it's an off brand or something? I just spent 4 days in hospital with IV I think I am pretty well hydrated but still doesn't seem to help much. It did at the hospital when they injected into IV at least for few hours. -

@ I decided I am going to do it myself, dis it at the hospital to make sure I do it right. I plan to go back to work on Tuesday and visiting nurses wouldn't be able to do this for me before work. I am feeling pretty weak and very nauseous which is the worst. They gave me meds for nausea but I am not sure if they are helping much... Struggle is real... -

@@Kathy812 Thank you, I need the prayers, still in the hospital, may be released tomorrow. I learned to pack my wound today which is 6.5 cm deep. Really weird and painful experience but needs to be done everyday to have the wound heal from inside out. It's amazing what curveballs life throws at us, sure hope there is no more around the corner. -

@wantobe Thank you and me too! I feel like I am finally going to be on my road to recovery. -
Hi all, I will be 3 weeks post op on Friday but ended up admired back into hospital... I guess I am the lucky one to develop a complication. They take real good care of me at the hospital. I just had some blended fish for lunch ( I know it doesn't sound most appetizing) but it was prepared so good I actually enjoyed it! That was the highlight of my day lol How is everyone else doing?

Furious and back to ER I go!

My whole 2nd week after surgery I was complaining that I am so exhausted, and people say it's normal but I felt beyond exhausted and was wondering how in the world will I be able to do anything and go back to work feeling that way... Then this whole thing went down.. I have to say as soon as they opened me and drained it (obviously I'm on pain meds and antibiotics and it still keeps draining) but I already feel like o have energy. I am in the hospital but have been doing laps and it's like night and day with how I felt before I came in to the ER last night. My surgeon's PA actually apologized to me because she didn't believe me that my pain and well being was really that bad... I guess there are patients that just can't tolerate a bit of pain or whatever so that want to come in for any little thing... But now seeing how serious my condition was she apologized and I appreciated it. But lesson learned, always ask for copy of your reports like cat scans so you can read it for yourself because apparently some doctors do not know how to read and you get mis diagnosed... Always have to look out for yourself. -

Career advancement as a result of new found confidence?
UsernameTaken replied to Laughkc11's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
One of the things that encouraged me to push myself to do revision from and to bypass is my current job I have a position where I interact with outside executive customers and internally with my company executives so I always have to be professional. I feel being this big as much as I try I still don't look as "clean and sharp" and the confidence goes along with that. Plus buying all the plus size clothing is just way too much, traveling is a pain because seats are small, belts don't fit etc. I love this job, it's very stressful and demanding but it's a very good opportunity for me to move up eventually. I can see myself being so much better at once I lose the weight. -

@@LisaMergs That's awesome girl! Hopefully at 9 weeks I will have gone down a size or 2 as well! -
Hi all, I was revised 2 weeks ago to bypass and my biggest incision is where the port was. There was a lot of scar tissue so they really had to dig around to get the port out so I was told that this area will be more sore and pulling/burning which is normal. However I am not sure if the rest of my belly swelling is going down or what but that location seems to be bigger, sticking out more and it's hard underneath. The incision have healed very well but I am concerned about the bulging part of it. I will call the dr on Tuesday and ask since its holiday now, but has anyone else had this?

Update: I was cut open and drained lots of that abscess.... Took a while to get everything out and it was so unpleasant stinky and painful at times even though they numbed me. Staying overnight for observation. I am already slightly relieved. Hopefully it will be better from now on! Thanks all for prayers and support! -

Thanks friend -
I am realizing that this surgery ended up being a lot harder mentally and physically than what I have anticipated (I had lap band before and didn't go through anything like this emotionally) ...I thought I was not going to be one of those people that have regrets with going through this surgery... But today those thoughts are creeping in my head.. I started blended food and struggling with getting food in and fluids in... And makes me think that I will get malnourished and will have all kinds of problems and now I am thinking to myself why did I do this to myself... I have been crying a lot and can't help it just feel defeated. I am supposed to go to work on Tuesday and I am so not ready... Please tell me it gets better soon... I am 2 weeks post op.
-
Well...I thought I was doing better emotionally... Went to bed... Looked at the seroma that I have to deal with now and had another melt down :/ I am really struggling right now :/
-
I had a tread on emotions as well, I am 2 weeks post op and have been struggling with this as well, it's all of the hormones that are being released after surgery through fat loss and all of the changes we are going through. I had few days when I cried for no reason either.. It gets better hang in there
