Are you nervous? I was shaking right before. I'm glad to have finally gotten it done. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App It comes and goes...I was super nervous then I started getting excited... Then the other day I was at a store, in front of me at check out was this very overweight man, I looked at the items he was buying, ice creams, pizzas etc all the stuff with not much nutrition but bunch of calories and sugar... Then I looked at my cart (I had veggies, broths, meat, sugar free jellos etc) and thought to myself "what is wrong with me that I can't do this on my own, that I have to have my intestines rearranged to help me lose weight" But I do need help because obviously I can't do this in my own or and the lap band didn't help me to get to where I need to be. I am nervous about complication, about not losing weight, about being sick if I can't tolerate food etc. but I am going through with it. I am sure I will be a mess the day before and the day of -

Band to bypass yesterday
UsernameTaken replied to Sheriberi's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@@Sheriberi Congrats on going through it and new beginning... Sorry you are not feeling well, I am sure it will get better... Hope the mass is really nothing to worry about... Did you have any pains or Anthony before that would indicate tubing being tucked in or the mass? Just curious... It's interesting what they find when they go in there... I am due for revision on 13th... Hope you feel better! -

Not too far from Chicago I will be having mine at alexian brothers in Elk Grove -
I am pre op (revision from band to bypass) currently on liquid diet.....Found out there is huge family get together/special event at the end of the month in another state and I won't be able to go because I will be recovering after surgery... Someone suggested I move the surgery, but I have worked so hard to get everything done by this date, have everything set up and planned and if I move it I would have to wait another few months for the date then do all clearances again... I guess I feel guilty that I can go and be there for family and maybe also selfish that I am choosing to keep my surgery date and continue with my decision.... But knowing myself most i most likely would want to go that event being so overweight anyways because I am embarrassed and uncomfortable.....

Go Blackhawks! Yup I don't blame you, sounds like a good fun roadtrip! Where did you have your surgery? I feel better after reading all the posts and talking to all of you:) thank you for the support! How are you doing now after the surgery? -
Do you take them with food? Do these Vitamins have Iron in them? I can't take multi Vitamin that has iron in it, I have to take iron different time of the day by itself... Maybe try that? Sorry you are not feeling well... I use the nascobal brand

Thank you... Wow that's a nice goal to work to, hope his jaw drops when he sees you! I can relate... I have been overweight all my life, when I was single my mom would talk about me to others that I am such good daughter, intelligent, talented etc... And then the big BUT comes in and the whole conversation about me being so overweight begins... I think once I got married she kind of got off my back because it showed her someone does love me the way I am... I am getting excited for this journey... Can't believe it's next week! I am sticking with my date... I've been waiting for this 2nd chance for a long time... -

Thank you...I think I will just concentrate on myself this time, I will need to heal and learn my new. Stomach and way of eating. If I go to that event it will be tough, being so fresh after surgery, I will be still on puréed food and the party will be a feast, won't want to make it harder then it is... I am also having gallbladder removed so I think it will take a while to heal up and get my energy back... -
I am revising from band to bypass on 13th... Sitting here hungry on a liquid diet and wondering, after bypass does your stomach still growl when you are hungry? This maybe a stupid question... But just wondering... With my band I would eat, the food would be in my pouch but the bottom half of stomach is screaming "feeed meeee now!"

I have one (or 2) of those co workers as well... I am surprised they didn't catch on yet to my liquid diet right now... But I am sure I will have to deal with same thing once weight will start coming off especially being gone for couple of weeks. -
Yep I just finished day 3 of it... It's better than day 1 but still hard... 12 more to go...

How much have you lost on liquid diet pre op? How long was it?

Day before mine Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App How are you feeling xx hope ur excited Sent from my D6603 using the BariatricPal App Yes. Excited anxious nervous. You? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Same but going to keep positive I'm taking arnica now as it will help us with bruising and swelling xx looking forward to my new journey xx Sent from my D6603 using the BariatricPal App Be careful taking arnica it thins blood and I don't know about you but I will be given blood thinners before and after surgery to minimize risk of blood cloths. I know I am supposed to stop taking any medicines that are anti inflammatory and blood thinning at least a week pre op. Just don't want you to lose more blood than you might.

Hi all, For those that have experienced dumping, have you noticed what is your limit regarding sugar, carb, fat amount in the food that makes you dump? I know it's going to be different for each person but trying to understand this more. For example you know you will dump of you will have more than 3 g of sugar on something... What made you dump before? Thank you!

@@Cape Crooner Just say you are doing high Protein low carb and small portions over all. I am not telling about my surgery either but people have seen me have shakes before or stay away from carbs etc. Congrats on 90 lbs... It's none of their business, keep doing what you are doing! -
@@Lisa1996 I am on day 2 and feel a bit better than on a first day, first day was miserable. I am doing about 800 cals... Another liver shrinking diet I have looked at was 1000 to 1200. My dietitian told me not to go over 80 g of carbs per day. I am trying to concentrate on getting about 70 g of protein a day, limiting fat, sugar and carbs. It's still hard today but a bit better than day 1. Hang in there, I am trying to be strong and stick with us as well.

My surgery is in 13 days... I am also freaking out, had my pre op blood work and EKG today and have my surgery clearance spot with my internal med doc on Tuesday... Then pre op with surgeon on 9th. Time seems to be going fast... I am noticing I am having somewhat difficult time mentally on this liquid diet, it's sad how much food is has a hold of me... All the cravings are kicking in just because i can't have it at the moment and I know it's just my head... Trying to really pay attention to it and change my way of seeing food and and keep staying busy. I told someone today about my surgery and they asked me if I am excited... I feel like I can't get excited because I know it will be tough and since I am revision from lap band I am scared I won't lose my extra weight... Wow....guess i needed to let things out here lol
