Wow! What a crazy situation. Your band doc wants to do a sleeve revision, and your sleeve doc wants mini bypass.... makes my head spin, lol. I really don't know anyone that has had a revision to their sleeve, but I know that it can be done. Did your Sleeve doc give you a reason for making the sleeve so large? I'm not sure I would want to go back to him if I were already dissatisfied with the prior surgery he did. I wonder if you might get some better answers in the Revision section here. I wish I could help you out, Maybe someone will have some solid advice for you.

My Surgery is on Thursday!
liannatx replied to wannaBthinsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so happy for you! 4 more sleeps and it is done! -
Are you saying both your old Lapband surgeon and the surgeon that did the Sleeve are recommending mini Gastric Bypass? But you would rather be resleeved? I would just listen to the doctors. Especially since they both recommend the same thing. There was probably an issue with scar tissue that impeded the sleeve from being made smaller.

It would be easiest to layer a tank top under your shirt. It will still cover anything (butt crack, granny panties, spanks) if your shirt raises up.

I am worried about this also. I am already at that age where all the past sun damage is starting show up, and it doesn't help that I am pre-menopausal. I just slather on lotion and products and hope for the best.

Antacids, how long?
liannatx replied to phatphotog's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure... my doc sent me home with 10 days worth, I take 2 a day. Now I just buy the generic Prilosec at Walmart. Your surgery day is getting SO CLOSE!!!! I am excited for you. Just be prepared for those first few days to be the worst, because they really are... then it just gets easier every single day after! -
I catch myself doing a big sigh... if I stop right there I am good. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens with eggs or dense foods. If I eat one or two more bites after that I am miserable and/or sliming. I try to weigh everything just to avoid that.

Antacids, how long?
liannatx replied to phatphotog's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@wannaBthinsoon My Prilosec are very small, I just take with a sip of Water... no gulps required! I was okayed to take those and the pain pills the day I was released from the hospital. -
Protein Shake...
liannatx replied to heartonmysleeve82's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Syntrax Nectars, I have the Cappuccino flavor over ice every morning. 100 calories, 24 g Protein, 0 carb. The Fuzzy Navel flavor is good too, tastes like slightly diluted orange juice. I think I like just about anything BUT the chocolate or Vanilla that most protein powders and RTD shakes come in. -
Has anyone seen/used these
liannatx replied to erose321's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used them the first week post-op when I was on Clear liquids. I poured half of one into my Vitamin Water Zero and it was fine taste wise. They have a mix of proteins: collagen Protein, whey protein isolate, and casein protein. My doctor was fine with them, but as soon as I was on fuller liquids I started using Whey Protein Isolate powders... this is supposedly the most easily absorbed and used protein. I love the Syntrax Nectars, Fuzzy Navel and Cappuccino are my favorites. -
Guess I just need reassurance.

I cant see the video... but It sounds like you are following your doctors plan very closely! You are doing great with the fluids and protein! It sounds like you are right on track. When you start purees that hunger will be satisfied so much easier! -
I love the Syntrax Nectars. I have the Cappuccino flavor for Breakfast every morning.

I get that feeling when I eat too much. I measure almost everything, keeping it a 2 oz.... One or two bites more and it is just too much for me.

Nauseas during protein?
liannatx replied to SeahawksGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@SeahawksGirl I know that Isopure, unjury, and Syntrax all make an unflavored Protein powder. You might try getting some and adding it to your Soups. I know that some people mix it with Crystal light and make there own frozen protein popsicles, I haven't tried this.... but sounds tasty! -
Nauseas during protein?
liannatx replied to SeahawksGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@LeeRN The Syntrax Fuzzy Navel is also a very light fruity one. Mixed with Water it isn't so thick and sweet like the Chocolate/Vanilla Protein drinks tend to be. -
3 wks post-op- what was your diet?
liannatx replied to LeeRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on full liquids at 3 weeks. I loved cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup! -
Revised 4/14...have a heaviness in my belly
liannatx replied to pooky032281's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If I recall correctly, that is gas pressure on the diaphragm. It will dissipate within a few days. I didn't have that with this surgery, but had it horribly bad when I had the lapband surgery. Walk, walk, walk and get that gas to work itself out. -
Need help...Nectar Protein Powder
liannatx replied to Misty1975's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I have never tried that flavor. I like the Cappuccino one made with Water and with lots of ice. I love the Fuzzy Navel or Caribbean Cooler made with water and with lots of ice. I use half milk half water to make the vanilla Bean torte, Cookies and cream, chocolate Truffle. I hear the Lemonaide is pretty good, but haven't tried that one yet. -
Have you tried the Syntrax Nectars? They are lighter and mix well with Water. The Fuzzy Navel one tastes like slightly diluted orange juice.

Prayers and good luck wishes sent!

@Lacowgirl72 LOL! I vaguely remember hipbones. I got down to 150 lbs with lapband, and that I remember that my hipbones were very uncomfortable to sleep on. Really!! I just wasn't use to it... (Odd how distinctly I remember that of all things.)

@catlover2565 Thank you for posting these recipes! I want to make the chocolate PB one, but use almonds instead of peanuts.

Were you guess as prepared as u thought u would be?
liannatx replied to jackiemc1987's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was fully prepared and nothing surgery wise or physically has really surprised me. I did however have an irrational full blown panic attack about 2 weeks post op. I was laying in bed almost asleep and was overcome by this feeling/idea that I would never eat real food again, and would be sipping Water and Protein drinks for the rest of my life. I went into a cold sweat, rapid heartbeat, tunnel vision, all out 30 minute anxiety attack LOL! I got up and walked it off, and that has been my only real moment of "WTF did I do to myself"... but it was a doozy. Ironically, I was already eating soups, yogurt, sugar free Jello and pudding at that time.... so it really made no sense. -
I know 10 people that have had WLS. I work with 4 ladies that have the sleeve, and one that just had Bypass. My brother in law and niece had the sleeve done together 5 years ago. The last school I taught at I worked with 3 ladies that had Gastric Bypass.

I am a side or twisted side/stomach sleeper too. I propped 2 pillows under my head, one on each side of my body.. and rested my arms on those like an armchair LOL. I actually slept very good that way for a few nights, I called it my nest. After about a week I was able to put a pillow against my stomach and sleep on my side again.
