I keep staring at the tag

So sorry that your Mom passed. I cant imagine how difficult that is.
  2. Did you have the Protein shake right after the lettuce wrap? For me, drinking anything after I eat is a recipe for disaster.... and against guidelines probably for that reason! The stomach can only hold so much now.
  3. Clear liquids are pretty limited. I pretty much had my 3 Protein drinks and lots of VitaminWater Zero. Isopure makes a clear liquid Protein Drink that many people use for the clear liquid stage. @@WL WARRIOR Thank you for the recipes links! I have been browsing them for 30 minutes.
  4. Try keeping hydrated by sipping on fluids all day! This should help with that feeling of being so thirsty, which is causing you to drink too fast. Sip, sip, sip all day and don't wait until you feel thirsty. The capacity of your stomach right now is just a few ounces... so more than that of anything (food or fluids) is just more than it can take at once. Food/solids stick around longer for the digestion process, but liquids go through pretty fast. You should be able to take sips/swallows pretty often.... just not too much at one time.
  5. Woo Hoo! Now it's time to go shopping!

    Day 1 post op!

Those gas pains are no fun! Walk, walk, walk and sip on plenty of liquids. It gets better each day.
  7. The sodium and broth on pre-op diet got to me, and I had it pretty bad in my ankles and feet on surgery day. It wasn't a problem. If I were you I would still call and check... they may want you take a diurectic, although I don't recall hearing about anyone having to do this.
  8. I like the Syntrax Nectars. Wide variety of flavors, including unflavored.

    Sleep

I slept propped up in a pillow nest, in my bed LOL! I had 3-4 under my head and shoulders, one king pillow on each side which I layed my arms on. I sleep better in my bed, in pitch dark silence, with my husband : ) It took me a week to sleep okay on my side, and then it was with a pillow pressed tightly against me for pressure support.

    Carbs

    I aim for 80 g Protein, 30 g carbs, 600-800 calories.
  11. I think everything looks good, except maybe boost the Protein. Most goals I see are for 60-80 g protein... so you might want to work on increasing the protein.... or just add a Protein Drink once a day to boost it. Everything else looks pretty good to me!

    MMMMM BAKED EGG CUSTARD

I love Flan... I may have to try this!
  13. I would have The Gladiator that @@MistyAnnMoon829 found!

    Weak from liquid diet?

realized this was revision to Bypass after I posted : ) I found that as long as I was getting my Proteins and fluids I actually felt good. I think I felt better than I did pre-op when I was eating so many carbs and big portions. I was more tired... the body wants more rest to heal, but I wasn't weak from lack of food.

    Protein /Food

Have you tried to find a lower calorie Protein drink? My Syntrax nectar that I like has 90 calories, 0 carb, and 24 g protein. Like Mrs. Kaje, I mix mine with Water. Even drinking 2 a day leaves plenty of room for food calories/protein. You might want to try some samples of different Proteins and find one that is lower calorie than what you are using!

    Boobs Bigger Since Surgery?

They call this "sister sizes". I hate a tight bra, and even when they measure me I prefer to go up a band size and down a cup size for the comfort.

    50 pounds lost- 2 mo postop w/pics

That is great! I wish I could lose like that!
  18. I couldn't even tolerate ice chips on day 2. They just made me spit up foam. By the third day I was able to take small sips and get down 2 Protein drinks and 2 bottles of Water. After the first week, I haven't had any problems at all... I drink almost like I did before surgery.

    Heartburn

My doctor has me on Prilosec 2x daily. I think it is common to have a problem with stomach acid the first few months. As long as I take the Prilosec I am not bothered by it. Are you taking a PPI? You might need one.
  20. @RellaBelle That is straight up Bulimia. Binging and Purging.
  21. I probably will continue to have one for breakfast. I used to be a breakfast skipper, and I think my energy level is better with a Protein shake for breakfast.

    Bougie

I think it depends on the surgeon's preference. I think 32F is pretty common.
  23. I spent 2 nights in the hospital, and when I was released we headed straight home. Once you are off IV fluids and they know there are no complications there isn't really a reason to stay an extra night in a hotel. I think you will be fine.

    Food is not appealing

I think at this point the most important thing is getting in all your liquids and Protein. Check with your doctor or nut and see what they say.
